Any chance you're joining us for Cinco de Julio?

  1. Of course. In fact, I save my popsicle sticks for just this occasion!

  2. I had to lean to shave with the scales straight out and the blade upside down. Kind of like this.

    Right side [IMG]
    I hope this helps.
  3. After a discussion in another thread about first safety razors, I decided to give mine a spin.

This razor still gives me as good a shave as any of my safety razors. If it wasn’t for my early RAD this could have been my only razor.

  4. I use a similar grip. Do you use both hands? Using both hands made a big difference in managing the tough angles. If you have a shavette trying using without a blade to find the right grip and build muscle memory.

    Welcome to the Dark Side
  5. Thank you, Jim!

  7. I don't think so, it was designed to hold an SE blade

  8. Thank you for the tips gentlemen. I am starting to use both hands as I can see that certain parts of the shave will be easier using my left hand.

  9. Thank you, Clint!
  10. Terrific, Adam! Looking forward to giving it a try. @Jayaruh is quite the craftsman. He and @twhite both amaze me with their talents.

  11. Great picture, Brian!
  12. I have to admit, I wasn't sure what to think when I saw something about getting a woody in the mail. But, that is an excellent looking picture and a fun looking razor.

  13. Thank you Clint. I will not be replacing the used up Floïd, but rather switch to Floïd Blue for the rest of the focus.

    Razor: Timeless .95 SC
    Blade: Rapira Super Stainless(1)
    Brush: SOC mixed
    Pre shave: Stirling mentholated
    Soap: Soap Commander Fortitude
    Lucky Tiger face tonic
    AS: JoHS Tobacco Bay

    Tobacco Tuesday!

A renewed focus focus. I received my Timeless .95 SC in April. I've used it a total of thirteen times. I'm going for thirty consecutive shaves.

    Shave one:
A few short months ago this shave would have been described as wonderful. My standards are higher now. I ended up with a couple of small weepers and slight redness on the right side of my neck when doing the ear to adams apple touch up. My fault. I didn't do a good job with my skin stretching. Other than that it was a very nice shave.

The talk of shaving with both hands has me thinking about trying it. Seems it would be easier to pull my skin back on the right side of my neck with my right hand and shave forward towards my adams apple with my left. I'll give it a try tomorrow and report back.

    Have a great night![IMG]

    Schick E2 / Personna ( 6)
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
    Lucky Tiger balm

One pass to a DFS today. I think the soap sample is about half its original thickness now.
  17. Thanks Jim. I hope I haven't set my own bar too high! ;)
  18. I will definitely miss the Floïd Andrew, but c'est la vie!

  19. Jim, beautiful set up and photo!

My DE shaves are always closer and more comfy when I use my opposite hand to stretch the skin. I treat the DE like a straight in that respect by using both hands during nearly all of the shave. I'm interested to see how this works for you!
  20. 1 down, 29 to go...BTW, lovely photo Jim.
