It honestly took very little effort. I just used MAAS, a Q-Tip, and a flannel cloth. I finished with a polishing cloth that I pulled from my silver-plated Bach Stradivarius trumpet case.

 

Pre: Cold water face wash

Wow! The Pro Super blade works really well for me in the Calypso, very efficient and smooth. I prefer the heft of the General but the shave is pretty similar.
An excellent midweek fillip.

A very smooth and comfortable Shave, the Razor is working well with a Proline blade, but not getting the same results around the neck that I get with heavier Razors.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #302 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Mongoose Alumigoose Razor on loan from @Redfisher with a Feather Professional SS blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Family Dollar Spice AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Finally! My first shave with the B1 Repeater. For those of you following along at home, I was able to score a great BIN on eBay for a B1 Repeater. The joy was dampened slightly last Friday when I received the wrong razor (a Durham Duplex). The seller made good, though, and I received the B1 on Wednesday and, after cleaning and a bit of polishing, today was its trial run.

According to the normal sources, the B series was made from 1927-1932 and it is a testament to its quality that it continued to be made after the crash and subsequent depression. It's an ingenious device as I realized during cleaning. Mine did not come with any vintage blades, but did come with an empty blade holder. Throwing conventional wisdom to the wind, I loaded some sacrificial blades into the carrier and was able to cycle them through the mechanism two or three times with no issues. (This was the main reason I chose a Personna blade for today's shave.)

Shaving with a Repeater is definitely an experience. It's a solid piece of engineering with the heft of something like a mini-Maglite as opposed to a later Injector. I had no issues with finding the right angle, except for part of my ATG pass which requires holding the razor upside down. Parts of the shave are not as close as I might like, but it's still a DFS with no issues or irritation. I can see why some of you like these so much.

A rather lazy indulgent Shave today. I chose to use a cream rather than a solid soap, that combined with the"O" Clone was resultant in an ultra close finish. Shaving with the Clone is so easy and you can guarantee
a good shave by not rushing. If I was attending a special occasion this Razor would probably be the one to use, it may not suit the purists, but it does Shave well.
