  3. Those are beautiful scales on that Fili Keith! Are they original?

  4. Thank you, no they are not the original scales. The original scales were light, flimsy, cheap looking scales and I just could not stand them. I send the razor to Kevin, @HolyRollah and he did the scales for me and put a great edge on the razor. I hated the old scales so much I considered selling the razor, now I am very pleased with the razor.

I was advised against changing the scales as it would hurt the value of the razor but I am much happier with the razor now. My heirs will likely just donate my razors to charity or sell them as a lot on Ebay so I am not worrying about the value.
  5. I’ll set myself up as a charitable organization, if if helps them

  8. Nice smile on that one. Does it shave as good as it looks?
  9. It really does. I am a big fan of the SK3. The SK1 is fun but a little too much smile... this 3 is just right in my book.

  11. +1. It’s a hobby, and a personal enjoyment thing for me, not an investment. If you think of it as an investment, it pretty much proves you aren’t very good at investing. I can show you about 1000 things that are better investments than straight razors. If you put the money that a straight cost in the stock market 150 years ago when it was made, you’d be filthy rich. The razors are worth less than $100 (usually much less).

Some nice old French steel today, a Gelle-Freres (Gelle Brothers) in horn scales. Gelle-Freres is a drugstore in Paris and has been around forever, this razor is probably late 1800s and shaves like a million bucks. Or is that a beeeellion bucks lol? A pretty Simpsons Keyhole 4 lathered up some Floris 89 and LT had the honor of last place as all aftershaves have.

    Cheers, Steve

  18. I will let them know, you but a high valuation down so we can save on taxes.

I absolutely do not think of razors as an investment other than an investment in my happiness.
  19. Inspired by Tom and Brian I used my Herr Razor homage to the SK1. It looks some getting used to but know I really enjoy shaving with this extreme smile. I have another extreme smiling razor on its way.
