Damn Jim your photo skills are legit. You ever try Lea shaving cream, it might make a nice addition to menthol Mondays. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Scott. I just looked at Lea. I haven't heard of it before. Sounds tempting. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
July 2018 July 30 Razor - Type E Schick Injector Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Electric Sheep Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Post - Alum Second night with the Type E Schick from @CarlfromMO . I grabbed the Stirling Electric Sheep to get my mutton tallow fix. The scent on this one shouldn't be one I like, but I do. Lots of citronella and eucalyptus. It's startling, bracing, and fun, and the after shave feel is just marvelous thanks to the mutton. Three pass shave again because I was enjoying it way too much. The baby is in the house again after a smooth shave that couldn't have gone any better. I don't remember the Type E that I have used before being this smooth. The finish on it is not as perfect as this one so maybe that's part of it. One more day left in July! I'll have the August thread up either late tonight (Wait, it's already late) or early tomorrow. Keep those July shaves coming!
Glad to hear that the Type E is working out for you. With me, I felt more at home with the Type G . I guess this supports the YMMV theory. On a different note, I am working through that sampler of Russian blades. There isn't one that I don't like.
It's my travel cream when I go on vacation. I put Gillette Tech on my 6c handle with a Polsilver SI today, and had an amazing shave. The shave was so great I went on eBay and bought blemished Weber Bulldog handle for 15 bucks to put the head on. Got a sample of Crown King Red Planet with my Star Jelly purchase I'm going to try out tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A loud Tuesday Shave: This Drew Dick 5/8 is the most hollow ground razor I own, it is amazingly thin, if the blade was any wider it would flex. So, it produces a very loud shave, it is fun to listen too. Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A Razor: Drew Dick 5/8 Strop: Mastro Livi Brush: Rooney Pre: Proraso Soap: Stirling AS: Fine Snake Bite AS, Edwin Jagger ASB Scent: Dior Eau Sauvage
The mark of a true Dark Side master! It's totally against instinct to let something fall. In this case, it's also essential for survival of all essential body parts. Glad the razor survived as well!
Well, that didn't take as long to finish as I thought it might. With one day left in July - here's the EARLYBIRD ENTRY FOR AUGUST!!!
Ah, it was nothing really. Genius? Nahh....I'm way too humble to accept that. But, if you insist. I mean, I wouldn't want to offend you after all. The things I sacrifice for the good of the group.
I was vindicated by my Bride when she saw @Drygulch's razors at the meet up and heard @mrchick describe his collection.
Close call, Brian. I'm glad you were not injured. I guess the soft landing on your house shoes saved your foot and the razor. Thankfully, no rabbits were harmed, either.
