    RECENT SHAVES

    20180808_122141.jpg

Prep: MLSW Sandalwood pre shave butter
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Big Ben
    Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
    Soap: Smitten Soapery- Stud Muffin
    Post: Catie's Bubbles LPV A/S

Excellent smooth shave. love the performance of Smitten Soapery and consider it another hidden gem since it gets rare mention on the fourms. High content of Kokum butter and other skin food makes for a teriffic lather. Scent is spicy and resenbles bay rum a little bit, paired great with LPV.

    20180810_121813.jpg

    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Big Ben
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Grandstaff Amyris
Post: Dr. Jon's Lemongrass Geranium oil

Nice irritation free shave this morning. Went with Grandstaff Soap Co Amyris which has a unique woodsy floral type of scent. really like these big metal tins, they are the same ones as the old HTGAM tins and are about the size of a film reel. Performance is quite good and the lather likes a lot of water. Paired it with Dr. Jons oil which is potent stuff, a little goes a long way. Hope everyone is doing well ans getting the best shaves possible!

Adjustable (Arko) Anything Goes and whatever else we decide AUGUST!!!!

    August 10

    Razor - 1959 (E1) Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (10)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Ok, let's start with a time check. 1:45 a.m. on the 11th. Yep, that's 0145 hours for you military minded types out there. The shave actually happened about a half hour ago, so technically it didn't occur on the 10th BUT it credits there as it was the end of my day at that point. I did get my head shave done earlier in the day, around 5 p.m., but decided to hit the streets early tonight to try and get ahead of things. Can't say it worked to my full advantage but it wasn't bad. Add to it the money I made on GrubHub earlier in the day and it was a decent day on my secondary income job. I also have to say - I'm liking it. Nice diversion from always selling stuff and dealing with customers in that realm. Everybody I deliver food to is happy to see their food, and most of my riders on the Uber/Lyft side of things are friendly and appreciative. Or else drunk enough they're just plain entertaining. Anyway.

The Personna 74 enters double digit days with this shave. I can honestly say I've never used a DE blade for this many shaves. I chose to go to the Fatboy on 9 to continue on with Adjustable August and I also threw in the Arko for the bonus points. (Also used Arko on my head shave). The Fatty is one of my favorite razors and always does a super job, especially wide open. I'm tempted to say, however, that I may have felt just the slightest hint of tugging from the blade tonight. However - before reading too much into that as to the life of the blade - I want to revisit it tomorrow night a bit earlier when I'm not quite so tired and still feeling like I'm in a moving car. I may have just been off on my angle a bit due to fatigue.

I did check the finish with alum and it was quiet. The finish itself is a very near-BBS. Can't quite say it's the full baby but it's very very close. Again, the slight reduction in finish quality from last night and tonight may be attributable to my physical state instead of the blade. Tomorrow will help sort that out.

Hope your weekend has started off great! Trivia for those who haven't seen it yet - the PGA Championship enters round 3 tomorrow and it's being played at Bellrive Country Club here in the STL area. Chesterfield, to be exact. So, if you're watching any of the coverage be sure to wave! I've worked some early morning drives this week with the extra crush of golfing fans around this week so I've been happy to have them around!

    Clubman Classic Shave Cream
    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #30
    J.R.Torrey 5/8
    CWR
    Clubman Pinaud AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. I used Clubman Classic Shave Cream as a pre-shave. It is an non-lathering SC, so I just applied a thin layer before face-lathering the Williams Mug Shave Soap with the Jayaruh #30 brush. I did two passes with the J.R.Torrey 5/8 straight and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Clubman Pinaud AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

For the 14+of you who "liked" my shave choice for today, thank you, but I made a last second switch to Rise Super Foam(from Gillette Foamy Menthol). Stayed with the Stoylin,, though. Man, I'm gonna miss that Super Foam when I finish my box of em.

Day 6 on the Spoiler and I noticed a big drop in performance. Still working well but not quite as easily. Ended up with a fine shave and probably have 1 or 2 more left in it. My face is still very happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Solid shave. Soap Smooth doesn't get much attention, but it should. The soap lathered immediately and yielded thick, top-tier suds with plenty of residual slickness. I paired it with Dr. Jon's Defiance because of the sandalwood. I did get a little weeper on my neck, but nothing serious.

    Rating: 4.5 / 5

    Razor: Rockwell 6s R6
    Blade: Voskhod
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Silver Surfer
    Lather: Soap Smooth Sandalwood Ten
    Aftershave: Dr. Jon's Defiance
