Tonight's shave was with an American made razor, at it's finest. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, WTG and ATG, that left me with a BDBS shave. This razor performs excellently, and with the thumb notch the way it is, it is a snap, to shave and strop.

  8. Thanks for kind words, Doug. All good here! Likewise, I hope you are doing great!
  9. Thanks - it’s a nice brush that’s still breaking in. It’s a 28 mm knot with a 51 mm loft. :happy088:
  10. My newly acquired, and freshly honed Torrey razor, did a great job. BBS, almost a dolphin smooth shave, but not quite there. This one is definitely staying in the regular rotation.

  14. Thank you, Doug!

Great setups and photos, Jamie! Particularly like the colors in the second photo with the barbershop handle and the reds and blues. Too bad Pacific Rush has been discontinued. I enjoy it.

    Razor - 1959 (E1) Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (11)
    Soap - Stirling Iced Coffee
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

Shaving before midnight! Getting ready to start the second shift and had time to enjoy a more leisurely and awake shave tonight. The Fatboy on 9, Personna 74 blade on its eleventh run, Stirling Iced Coffee and the LE brush. What a combo.

After thinking last night that the blade might be losing a bit of smoothness I'm happy to report that it was as smooth tonight as it usually is. I suspect last night's issues had to do with fatigue and the resulting lack of technique. However, the finish tonight is not quite BBS. Very close again, but not quite there. So, I suppose I need to allow that the sharpness is fading ever so slightly as we approach two weeks on the same blade. Considering I never go past three shaves on any blade and most give up the great shaves by 5 or 6 anyway, this thing has been nothing short of epic. It's not done by a long shot, or at least I don't think it is, but as the sharpness fades we'll see when the comfort follows. For all I know it may be in increments of three or 4 days and it may make two more weeks.

Still have to say I think Iced Coffee is my favorite Stirling scent. Iced Pineapple has a chance at getting that honor but for now I really love the coffee nights. Hope your Saturday was a good one!
