Excellent, great for the head, i put the steel on par with M Martinez, which is in my top 3 or so. I was lucky to find this, I don't know if he makes them anymore.

That is a big complement. I have a M Martinez and it is the best steel I have, takes a very sharp edge and holds it. Who else is in your top 3?

Tonight's shave was with a Russian Beauty. I had the 1st pass done, and it was a DFS. With the second pass, ATG, I ended up with a BBS shave. I always enjoy using these Russian Razors. They usually aren't the prettiest, but the deliver some of the best shaves ever. This one was noisy, super sharp, and smooth. Everyone should own one or two Russian Razors, just for the Shave Of It.

Razor- Stiz, "Dawn", Made in Moscow. 1975
Brush- RazoRock 400, WD High Mountain Badger.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Robert Williams and Max Sprecher round it out with M Martinez. I have a razor ordered from Bruno, so who knows after that one. M Martinez is way better than I anticipated.

They are horn. I replaced a wooden set, I initially made. I bought this razor with severely damaged scales. The blade, however, was flawless.

Rat razor night! Kinda forgot about this razor, as I haven’t used it in a while. I got to remember it, as it shaves great.

    Newly honed CV Heljestrand MK8
Fan of the Heljestrand brand, and even without the thumbnotch, I still find this model beautiful to hold.

I just picked up a Torrey razor a few days ago. I honed it and was impressed with steel, and the results I got from my shave. That was the first time I’d used this brand. I know I have a few more Torrey razors that need restoration, and I’m excited to get to working on them now.

Tanifuji-made Cape 2000 Swedish Steel in honey horn scales by Alfredo Gil. AdP cream was lathered up with a 22mm Morris and Forndran L7 and a splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica finished the shave. A dab od Mt Saint Michel Classique (rosemary, light cedar...) complimented the Agua Balsamica.

    Cheers, Steve

Best shave in a long time from this John Clarke & Son. I put it on the yellow-green Thuri for a bit and then some red paste to bring out the best in it. :happy036:

I have been dying to try this one...
Tapers from 6/8 to 5/8, the regrind seemed to provide a nice geometry for keeping a decently small and even bevel, and while I assume not what it looked like from the factory... I love it!
And since only the “R” is left from the initials of the sovereign, not much help in dating the razor from it.:)
