  1. Haven’t really posted anything for a few days. So here is Monday nights shave.
Small “The Pippin” razor, it definitely needs some time on the stones, not the best shave/ feeling at all, but I was able to complete my shave.

  5. I just got to say, WOW you guys have some beautiful brushes! Some of them look just amazing! Very impressive.
  6. Tonight's shave was with a Japanese Razor. I had a decent 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. I needed a little more stropping, and then did the touch-ups with it. I forgot how hard this Silver Steel was. Needs much more work than usual. .

    Razor- Japanese KYOEI #55.
Brush- RazoRock 400 and WD High Mountain Badger.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue

Razor - 1972 (S2) Gillette Super Adjustable - Long Handled Black Beauty (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (14)
    Soap - Stirling Sheep [IMG]
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Day 14 on the same Personna 74 and it's in the Gillette Black Beauty. Shave #2 in this razor for the blade but it's the end of two straight weeks. AND.....just to add a little challenge I took a no-shave night last night and that sets up a two day growth shave for a blade that should be long in the tooth. I grabbed the Stirling Sheep to let that wonderful mutton tallow give the blade a bit of an advantage and used the JR54 to load and face lather a magnificent lather. Seriously. Rod's sheep soaps are just that good. After the shave I squeezed out a handful of lather from the brush and it's truly amazing in its thick and slick consistency. It's far from baaaaaad.

Well, I wasn't sure what to expect but I can say I'm not totally surprised. However, I would say I'm pleasantly intrigued. After those two sentences I'm sure you need no explanation, but let's simplify. The shave was smooth - in spite of the number of shaves on the blade. A couple of times I felt a slight drag but no more than normal on two day shaves. I did not get the baby, but I did get a very nice and high end DFS. That's quality and good enough. I think a brand new P74 would give me the baby on this shave but I finally may have found a bit of weakness after two weeks. We'll see how it goes tomorrow on shave 15 with the usual one day growth.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #270 brush. I did two passes with the RazoRock Black Hawk Razor with a Feather Professional SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
