I don’t remember seeing this one before. New acquisition or just one you don’t bring out very often or did I just miss it? :signs002:

With @Keithmax traveling, I thought I could pay homage to his M Martinez with a razor of similar design queues... and from the hands of another great artisan.

Today's shave was with this gift from Mrs. Picturerock, a straight made in Germany for the Turner Hardware Co of Muskogee, Oklahoma. The rub here is that it was made before Oklahoma became a state, hence the abbreviation of I. T., which stands for Indian Territory. Not only does this help date the blade, it's one that could have been owned by Rooster Cogburn, or anyone with enough true grit to wield it. Also, one of my grandfathers was born in the Indian Territory way back in 1898. Indian Territory became Oklahoma in 1907. What he was doing there in that outlaw country I can never tell.

I also like the barber's notch. Classy for a hardware store straight.

Sunday morning shave, Filly 14 with a super smooth jnat edge. Cream was CF Lime lathered with a Simpsons PJ2 Best. A splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica topped off a summer shave. A friend of mine in neighboring North Carolina and I were lamenting the high humidity which usually comes and goes earlier than mid August in the southeast US, usually it's pretty dry by now, but I think there's so much water in the air that gasoline would have a hard time burning! So the lighter, refreshing scents are a real pleasure!

    Cheers, Steve

That’s a nice razor, with some really neat history. I have family that lives in Oklahoma, and I spent a few weeks there, a couple of summers when I was a kid. It’s a neat/ Beautiful part of the country.

Several lazy, no shave days worth of whiskers were no match for the Wacker Classic II. This razor takes an edge like no other.

This skinny old lady is my Old No Tail. Maybe 1700s, maybe very early 1800s but it’s lack of a tail and mysterious symbols on the tang make it distinctive. I wonder how many faces it’s seen in it’s 200 plus year history?

At any rate, it shaves like you’d expect from a very old razor with lower quality steel. The dolphins have nothing to fear. To see what I could eke out of it I gave it 10 laps on the red paste. Not bad, mostly a DFS which is saying something for this ole gal. :happy036:
