Once again, in keeping with the spirit of the 30 DC, I set my Merkur Progress to "5" and went to town.

Have I mentioned that I am not a huge fan of this razor?
    Pros:
    Holds blade securely.
    Good length.
    Cons:
    Slippery Handle.
    Adjustment knob can slip slightly.
Heavy razor, especially at the head.
There maybe a change in Primo's den in the near future...
New blade today. Schick Krona something or other. I got it and a bunch of other "vintage" blades in an Ebay lot.

Nice, sharp, smooth blade. No complaints.
Nice lather from the Hendrix Classics & Co. Barbershop sample.
Wonderful scent and the lather quality was everything I needed to achieve a BBS shave.
Excellent post-shave with the original Shulton Old Spice.

Now that’s a lineup to make up for misssing three days. You’re a real friend to help with moving.

Another excellent report and photo. After reading your posts on the Progress, I’m glad I never gave into the temptation and acquired one.

95BA0177-FF6A-45BE-90E7-4CBDFFBEE435.jpeg This morning I pulled out CRSW Kauai, and a Thater that I deemed “too soft” some time ago and don’t use much. What an awesome change of pace. Close, plush, drama free shave that left me almost BBS and smelling like a tropical beach. Hard to complain...

Thank you Doug! Having pretty girls to enhance my SOTD's helps. Living in an urban area there would be questions if I took my shave gear for a walk to find picturesque locations. I'm hoping you are up to the task when you begin sharing again. Your outdoor photos are da bomb!

Paul, have you considered sticking with a setup and conquering the issues?

By a setup, do you mean one razor for numerous consecutive days? As for conquering the issues, I certainly try me best to avoid cuts.

    Shave Report - Day 3

Gillette (Flat Bottom) Fat Handle Tech (Made in England)
Astra SP (3rd and final use)
    Bluebeard Doubloon Boar Brush
    Palmolive Shave Stick
    Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave Balm

Hotel shave this evening after a long (5 hour drive). Worse results than yesterday for a number of reasons (I believe). The lighting was poor (considering it is a Marriott), I did not load sufficient soap from the shave stick (I have my mug with it in at home), and it was the final use of the blade (it felt tuggy to me).

Having said all that, I have a more than socially acceptable shave (more like a CCS) with zero irritation and only one small weeper under the chin where I go ATG.

Sounds to me like your over tired. Perhaps a good rest will help. :happy088:

Shaving away from home is always more challenging in the beginning. Congrats on a shave without irritation.
