Another beauty, Jim! Quite a few of us on here find the Soap Commander to be an underrated soap.

Agree with both these opinions, James! Go to TOBS, GFT, (and why not DRHarris!) and have some fun.

My goodness, I seem to be having a heck of a time trying to keep up with all the great reports. Missed a bunch first thing this morning.

Super photo this morning, Jim. Did you do a review of the For Him?
Everytime you post that brush, Clint, I have to do a double take to see if it is one of the new dupes. What an amazing Rubberset!
Love that TOST brush, Brian. It is in the same style range I like making as well.
Great write up! Love Baker Street, Bruce, and doubly love it covering up Tabac...

Thank you, Jason! Soap Commander is good stuff and Fortitude is one of my favorite scents.

Adjustable (Arko) Anything Goes and whatever else we decide AUGUST!!!!

    August 21

Razor - Qshave (Futur clone) (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (20)
Soap - Oleo Soapworks El Caballero
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Well, well, a pre-midnight shave and report. Miracles do happen. It was a rough night in delivery land tonight so I'm glad to be home and shaved. I won't go back out until Friday now so the next two days will be shorter and a bit more sane.

Twenty shaves on the Personna 74 blade. Twenty. Two - Oh. 1/5th of a hundred. 20% of a hundred. Two 10's. How many more ways can I say it to give it some attention and express my amazement? Second shave with the Qshave this round and since I always do 3 shaves per razor there is one more expected with this one. After last night I wondered if I could push the blade past 20. Well, I can. It isn't getting rougher at this point, just less effective. It's getting dull and it shows in the finish. Mid-range DFS tonight after three passes but that's still pretty amazing. One more will give it 21, or three full weeks and will finish out the Qshave for its second turn this month. Will I push it into the next round for the Consul? Shaves 22-24? I'll decide that after I get 21 in the books tomorrow.

I went with the El Caballero with the JR54 and it was a great lather. Just enjoyed the scent before I start comparing it to the other Bay Rums I have. No issues with the shave at all.

Thank you. It’s in the same style range. However, yours means more to me because it represents the best group of guys in the shaving world.

And before we forget, James @jtface, Truefitt&Hill is another old-line British company with a shop in London, and I believe Cyril R. Salter has one too (though it's a mere 70 years old or so and therefore may not count as a "true" old-fashioned shave company...)

I have read some really good things about Cyril R. Salter, unfortunately they are absolutely nowhere near the other shops geographically! We are going to be quite pressed for time when visiting - I'll stick with TOBS partially because I cannot justify spending £20 on a tub of shaving cream for myself. I am looking forward to exploring the scents, that was one of the main reasons to visit - I can't decide which one to order online, so a trip is needed!

I'm quite envious actually. I have enjoyed the TOBS creams I have tried and have wondered about many of their other several dozen scents. Plus you can get many of them not just as shave cream or soap but as entire lines of shampoo, body wash or bathsoap, deodorant, and splashes, balms or colognes, and I have been curious about those as well. A chance to sniff test in their shop would be wonderful.
