After a thorough clean today, my Gillette Old from my newly acquired Canadian Pocket Edition Set was in line for tonight's shave... Beautiful 2 pass shave leaving me so so close to BBS. This really is a fine shaver. I agree with what people say about their aggression - you can really feel the blade and even the slightest pressure could cause damage, but good technique will yield excellent results in a swift two passes. It's a winner in my book. Now to get the whole thing replated

Tonight Hot Water wash Surrey Boar Chiseled Face Summer Storm Gillette Super Speed (z4) Astra sp (1) Iced Aqua Velva Ice Blue I've been experimenting with the adjustments of the Ikon sbs head of late. It ranges from pretty heavy and aggressive to very heavy and super aggressive. (Sorta scrapingly so). If interested, i found the crosshair side, coupled with the maggard mr5 handle to be a extremely nice combo, heavy as all get out and very efficient. That combo I'll highly recommend to the adventurous of y'all, flipped to the circles out for the aggression fanatics. Tonight I wanted supreme comfort. Enter the meager Super Speed. The ss with a new blade didn't disappoint. I called up a Surrey Boar, but also summer storm. Wow, the smell of the air before the rain. It's a very crisp ozoney, kind of a musty earthy aroma. I can almost imagine the first few drops hitting the dry ground, and the static tension of the outflow breeze mingling with the stagnant heat. Sorta gives pause, the silence before the winds of change. I'm intrigued with the scent. The performance was top notch, very rich slick lather. Makes a shaver think, "man o man, why didn't i buy the matching aftershave". I settled on matching the oncoming storm with another force of nature, ICED AQUA VELVA ICE BLUE. I'm gonna give the pic of the Ikon, no PC tonight. Hope y'all did as well, or better.
Merkur Futur Gold (4,3,2) & Voshkod #1 Maggard 30 Tuxedo WCS Chypre Jojoba shave cream Thayers Lemon W/H Astringent Nivea Sensitive Cooling A/S lotion A very, very nice shave today with the Futur. The shave cream from West Coast Shaving was actually quite good, not Tier1 good but, much better than average with a really, really good scent base. Almost reminds me of Chatillon Lux/Declaration Grooming pairing of Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli though not as sharp as theirs just softer and just a tad bit sweeter. Good lather, glide and protection. A little light on the post shave feel but, certainly more than acceptable. Have a great evening and great shaves Gents...
MENTHOL MONDAY Prep: shower with Siliski Soaps Floral Bouquet body bar, pre shave soap mix Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Wilkinson Sword (1st shave) Brush: Yaqi 26mm synthetic Soap: Soap Smooth War Blend Post: BW Peg Leg Nichols Excellent shave early this morning. Love the War Blend by Soap Smooth, it is a light cologne scent with a light menthol that is perfect without being overpowering. Lather quality stands with the best of them, thick dense and creamy. Post ahave feel and residual slickness are top notch. Finished off with Peg Leg aftershave which has a similar type scent profile. Hope everyone had a great shave!
