September 1st Razor: ATT S1 Blade: Polsilver SI (3) Brush: Switchback/TGN Finest Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: Stirling Spice Stirling unscented mentholated witch hazel AS: Stirling Spice Good morning! Happy September! Only my third use of the S1 since my March focus. I'm going to stick with it for the month. Nice smooth shave, no irritation. I did my usual two pass with touch up. I didn't get as close on my neck and chin as I have been, still DFS. I'm sure my results will improve as the month goes on. Have a great weekend! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I look forward to getting back to my Stoylin Spice A.S./shave soap. Should be around October, or late this month(depending on when we can kick this heat&humidity out the door).
That is a truly beautiful razor! I haven't really seen you post any pics of vintage stuff before! This is super cool!
Thanks, Clint! Great post as usual, Joseph! Very nice, Clint! What a beautiful razor. Paul, Clint is right. You don't want to interfere with college football. You also want to play the game and get the weekend started, particularly with the holiday weekend that we have right now. It was a tough decision regardless.
SOTD September 1, 2018 A Stirling SEptember Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: GEM PTFE Razor: GEM G-Bar Brush: JR #142 black badger Soap: Stirling Piacenza Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Piacenza aftershave Great shave this morning. Piacenza is a wonderful scent. It dries down to a clean and soapy finish for me. Very refreshing. The G-Bar worked quite well and was a nice choice to begin SEptember. Going to be a great month of shaves. Have a great day!
Is there anyone on here who would be interested in trading one or two GEM SE style razors for a 6 month old, mint condition Merkur 34c?... I only ask because it's murder trying to find GEM razors here in the UK. Offering the option here first because it's you guys Edit: I could always throw in a couple of sticks of Palmolive or a tube of Ingrams!
What kind of Gem SE are you looking for? 1912? 1914? 1924? MMOC? G-Bar? I have most of them and don't really like shaving with any of them. In particular, though, I have at least one spare of both the 1912 and the 1924. PM me if you want to chat.
Thank you James. I have a few vintage razors but prefer the modern stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you Perry. Asha is having a culture shock. Football is not nearly as big a deal at Arizona State. She has found a local Alabama Alumni group and their hangout to watch the game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
