  2. Thanks Clint! Couldn't have done it without this thread and all you guys! About 3 weeks ago I bought Feathers and some Polsilvers because I was convinced the Astras just weren't right for me/good enough! Now I get awesome shaves from a 'cheap' razor and blades that cost £8 (shipped) for 100. It really is testament to the TTT mantra!
  3. Oh, and I would like to say that this is the only time, that I can remember, that I have been able to shave daily!
  4. SEptember Focus? OK!

SOTD 09022018.gif Slipped in a shave before heading to Chuck E. Cheese for a B-day party with my fixing to be 3 year old grandson, and a mess of his cousins to be in attendance. The Hendrix brand shave soap by @Pete123 lathered well on my second use. I pushed the hydration right up to breaking the lather. Not quite as slick but still serviceable. The scent is opening up with repeated uses. Good classic Barber Shop notes. Three passes with Tom's prototype SE using the NOTSO comb for DFS or so. I've used the other two as well. The MILD is just that, while the WILD offers more blade exposure. I've even heard (I think Jim @Jayaruh ?) shaving without a comb in place. Rinsed and spritzed on Tom's concoction of witch hazel, alcohol, and EO that leaves a freshly line dried cotton sheets scent.
Now it's off to wrangle a bunch of 2,3,up to 7 year olds around a sub-par pizza shop. I wonder if they sell beer?
    Good Shaves Y'all!

  5. That is cool James. I have always been very fortunate with no real irritation despite shaving daily. I feel for you guys that have such trouble.
  6. Great shave and photo Rick.

  7. While you're checking out the Autostrop razor do a search on the Rolls Razor as well. I think you'll find that little contraption interesting.
  8. If I like my first Regiment Shavesoap, I'll go for their Frosty next summer(it's cold and mostly peppermint).
  9. I'm not entirely sure I am necessarily an unfortunate one. I think my technique was so poor that I was sabotaging my own shaving. I look at pictures of myself in my late teens/early twenties and don't see any rash/irritation on my neck! Now that my technique has improved, I can shave every day without issue!
  10. Yes, the Reserve scents are the only B+M soaps I am really interested in buying. Very traditional and straightforward.
  11. I'm really enjoying the scent and feel of the Peppermint oil... Lovely stuff!
  12. After giving this some thought, I am going to give this a try. I don't spend much time with some of my SE razors--mostly because I get rough shaves. I'm currently out of Stirling, so my set up will be:

    - Brush - WSP Synthetic. I like my brushes to dry completely between uses, and being in the humid south, only a synthetic will dry out in a day.
    - Soap - Dr. Jon's in Classic and 1803 scents
    - Razor - Ever Ready 1912
    - Blades - GEM Stainless

One challenge I may face is razor burn. But I do have to shave daily for work, so I'll use a Schick Injector if I need to give my skin some rest one day.

I used that setup this morning (I didn't shave yesterday) and the end result was great, but I did have 3 small weepers and my neck was red. A little alum and some lotion took care of the discomfort, so no issues. I'm hopeful that tomorrow is a little easier since I won't have 2 days growth. I'm hopeful I stick with the for 30 days, but I don't necessarily have a lot of faith in myself.

  16. I think the Techs are an excellent gauge of your skill progression. Their mild nature and flat geometry demand precise angle control. Nice to hear it is working out for you!
