    I was in the mood for something other than unscented Stirling this morning, so I pulled out my puck of Uula. What is Uula, you ask? You mean you don’t know?!!! Why, every dedicated wetshaving enthusiast in Finland knows of Uula!!

    Uula is an artisan soap created by a wetshaving enthusiast in Finland. I got it in a package lot from a European wetshaver a couple years ago. It's a non-tallow soap, relying mainly on coconut oil and glycerin, although it also contains lanolin. The puck is quite hard but lathers easily and quickly. It's nowhere near as slick as Stirling (few soaps are) but shave performance is certainly adequate and the postshave feel is good - it's not at all drying to the skin. Scent is a pleasant roasted coffee aroma.

    The synthetic brush quickly loaded enough soap for two passes worth of slick lather. The lather stayed wet throughout my shave, unlike some soaps that dry too quickly. Two easy passes with the Schick left my face and neck BBS and the underside of my chin DFS -- the usual. The blade was smoother today on its second use, as I expected. A dime-sized dollop of the balm left me smooth, hydrated, and smelling like a coffeeshop.

    Still using the Ever Ready 1912 with no changes to my setup. I almost decided to use the injector today to give my skin a bit of rest, but decided not to. Today was my first comfortable shave with the 1912 with no weepers. I still had a decent burn from the AS on my neck, but the rest of my face was fine.

    I'm sticking with 2 passes and getting a comfortable shave, although not as close as my normal DE or ATT Calypso (which is my favorite SE).

    I don't know what it is with these other types of razors I have(that is, besides the Sensor Deuce). The shave just couldn't get in rhythm this morning until I grabbed the Sensor Deuce to replace the Dorco 6-blader. I do think the Deuce works best for me. Saying that, though, I will still keep the others around and work out possible new strategies with them in future shaves. And there are some I haven't yet tried(from the group I have). The other problem that arose was that I don't think I prepared the brush the way I should have. More often than not, it looked like an inside-out umbrella. But that can easily be fixed. The soap itself glided(glid, glode??) across my face in the usual fine way(Razorock Acqua Shaving Cream Soap), and I was glad of that. The finishing touch of Aqua Velva provided for a nice smooth facial feel.

    Continuing the assault on the Jeeves Bay Rum I sent in The Soap Destroyer and made a thick, shiny, super goop lather. Using the blade that was still loaded in the PAL from the last time I used it everything felt good , smooth strokes, no tugging, but in the end the reduction just wasn't there and I finished with a CCS at best. A Splash of Oleo Empire brought the menthol chill and had me smelling great. I have probably two more shaves left in the Jeeves Bay Rum and then it will be on to Stirling for the month.     Thank you, Andrew! I had a little bit of a warming feeling today right before the final rinse. That's not a normal feeling with most soaps but I'm interested if it's something in The Lounge that caused it. I'll see if it happens the next time I use it. It went away pretty quickly but still wasn't pleasant.

    You nailed it. I checked this morning and it just says PAL. Fortunately, I only ordered two from Try-A-Blade though I am a little disappointed that they even stocked them.

    Yesterday's shave was late enough that I skipped shaving this morning. Take 2 will be tomorrow with a Gem Blue Star blade.
