SEptember is a Stirling month!
September 2 (Time warping again here people - it's my newest hobby)
Razor - Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf
Blade - CVS Carbon SE (3)
Soap - Stirling Barbership
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
Finish - Alum
Third day on the Clog Pruf and, dare I say, I think I'm making progress. Once again I remembered to keep the pressure off by either holding at the end of the handle and just letting the head of the razor work, or in close work, holding it just under the head and allowing gravity to do the work with no extra grip or pressure. The carbon blade is still nice and smooth and doing a good job. Two passes and touch ups and I'm at a high DFS which is just fine. Alum was nearly quiet tonight so I'm getting closer to where I want to be. This razor really brings the blade to bear, much like it's open comb cousin, so the learning curve isn't terribly steep. I had just expected a milder experience to start and paid the price the first shave. A couple more and I think I can claim this razor, if not mastered, at least learned.
Stirling Barbershop and synthetic brush for another superb lather win. I noticed today (ok, so my wife noticed and told me) that Stirling will be in town for an event in October. I plan to take it in and meet Rod in person. Should be fun.
Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day. I think we may have set a new store record for sales on Labor Day today. If we didn't we got very close. I'm in for the night so will be doing some catching up around here. Have a great night!
