September 5 - Still using my same set up with no changes (Ever Ready 1912, GEM PTFE blade, Dr. Jon's Classic soap, WSP synthetic, and Clubman Pinaud AS). Just a reminder--I've never devoted much time to the Gem style SE (I have some Feather AC style), but the 1912 is my favorite of the three I have. Today was the first day I didn't get any weepers. The shave is getting better (it's 6:30 PM and there's not much stubble at all), and less irritation. There was still a little sting from the AS, but nothing like the burn the first couple of days. Results are better, and I'm getting better understanding how it handles differently than my normal daily driver (Gillette Sim). I'm still on the first blade--and today's shave went so well that I see no reason to change it out, yet. I'm glad I decided to give this a try so I could learn to use a different razor better.
Congrats on the progress. Gem razors are a different beast and require sometime to dial in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you, Perry. I like the scent of the soap, so it sounds like the it might be similar to the AS. I'll have to look into it.
Thursday Shave What the heck? A nick and small cut?!?! This has not happened in a long time. I think I lost focus while using an unusually sharp blade. Maybe it because of my cold?
