SEptember is a Stirling month! September 5 Razor - Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf Blade - CVS Carbon SE (5) Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Finish - Alum Yep. Just can't stop dancing around midnight here at the Cartel HQ. Got home a bit earlier tonight but by the time I had some dinner and got everything together, another midnight is gone. Oh well, it keeps things interesting. Fifth shave with the Clog Pruf and CVS blade and....I think I've got it. Really nice and smooth shave tonight with three full passes just because. Having the Stirling Ozark Mountain along for the ride didn't hurt anything. If I said anymore it would just sound like over-hype. Let's just say this was the best finish I've had with this razor and I really like the way it performs. Another keeper in the SE collection, no doubt about it. Speaking of the SE collection, tomorrow I pull out the MMOC, or OCMM if you prefer and we'll give it five days with a Treet blade. I mastered this razor with a Rule earlier this year so I'm ready to see if I still have the skill set. Should be a fun five shaves with a razor that can turn on you in a split second.
Thank you, it was just a lack of focus on my part. The cut was tiny and can't be seen. I was surprised since it has been a long time since I drew blood.
Modern Williams and a Schick B1...yup. i refuse to try keeping up around here. 250 post behind....sheesh.
SOTD September 6, 2018 A Stirling SEptember Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: GEM PTFE Razor: GEM Featherweight Brush: JR #60 synthetic Soap: Stirling Sandpiper Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sandpiper aftershave Nice shave with the Featherweight today along with Stirling Sandpiper. Smooth shaving and smelling good. Can't ask for much else. Today will be a long day. We have an away football game tonight instead of tomorrow, so I'll get home close to midnight to turn around and wake up at 5:00 to go back in tomorrow. It'll be a short night! But that's how it goes sometimes. At least I'll be free on Friday afternoon to rest all weekend. Have a great day!
September 6th Razor: ATT S1 Blade: Permasharp (2) Brush: Switchback/TGN Finest Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender Stirling Bergamot Lavender witch hazel AS: Stirling Bergamot Lavender Good morning! Two pass with light touch up, DFS result. I'm not taking the time to chase the baby on my neck and my skin is the better for it. Another morning with totally silent alum. Have a great day! SEptember 6, 2018 Cobra Classic Feather Pro SOC Mistura Taj Proraso Cypress & Vetyver Shave Cream & Balm I love short work weeks. An absolutely wonderful shave this morning. The Proraso Single Edge cream is great product. I find it works as well or better than many of the artisan soaps. In particular, I love the residual slickness. I was absent minded this morning and ended up doing a 4 pass shave instead of my normal 3 passes. I easily caught the baby and ended up with a spooky close shave. Better yet no irritation at all. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
Thanks, Clint. Yup, I'm getting up 15 minutes earlier and that gives me time to knock out a shave. I just need to remember to take my SOTD pic the evening before while I have natural light. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thursday morning September 6 - SE and samples September Schick E2 / Personna ( 4 ) JR #276 white ash (Louisville Slugger) and Omega 49 boar knot Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original and DRHarris Sandalwood cologne sample Usual good two-pass shave today. Nothing much from the alum. I used witch hazel for skincare and then swabbed with a sample package I uncovered consisting of a towelette that was soaked in cologne. The DR Harris version of sandalwood is a mix of sandalwood and spices. Quite pleasant but I don't know that I care for it enough to want to rush out and buy the entire range of products, or even a tub of shaving cream...
Thank you, Jim! Great photo and shave on your post as well. Bergamot Lavender was a scent I couldn't get into. It seemed a bit earthy to me. I had a soap sample of it once.
