  1. I am betting that we can round up a brush for you. Could also set you up with some soaps and creams if you'd like. I've used Cremo but there is much better software out there.
  2. Wow, that'd be awesome to get a brush and some soaps or creams. Thank you for your generosity.

  4. I know you'll enjoy the time at home. I can sympathize with your demanding travel schedule. My first auditing job had me on the road for over 40 weeks a year.

  7. I don't have much experience with Cremo, but if it is drying out on you, you might try shaving portions of your face at a time until you get a little more practiced. I found this to be a big help when I was first learning straights.
  8. I've got both the regular, and cooling version of Cremo. I've found it's a great supplement to other soaps. By itself it's not much for making lather. Not being a lathering foamy cream anyways you can make do without a brush. It does give nice slickness.

Something to know about The 30 Day Crew - If someone PM's you asking for your mailing address, don't hesitate to share the info. ;) Can I get an Amen?

  11. @jluc can you give me a comparison of the Atomic Pumpkin Bay Rum and Atomic Age Bay Rum?
  12. The Atomic Pumpkin Bay Rum scent is dominated by the pumpkin spices followed by the blood orange. The bay rum scent is there but in the background. I like it and I'm anxious to use it but I committed to Stirling for the month. I might use it anyway.

  13. So I'm thinking ahead to when I'm done with this 30 day focus.

All things being equal I'm planning to stay wiht my Fatboy and continue to work on technique.. But I think I'd like to try a different blade for a little bit just to see what it's like.

What blade should I try next?

So far I've been using Astra Platinum. I have Personas, Crystals, Derbys and Feathers.

    What say ya' all?
  14. Welcome to the Dark Side. When I learned to use both hands it made a huge difference in my straight razor shaves. You can practice without a blade in your shavette to build up the muscle memory. My wrist is not double jointed so it was the only way I could get the angles.

    I used mine today.

  15. Yesterday's razor was a honing fail, today's razor was a honing success.

This new to me and fresh of the hones Friodur delivered a nice shave. It is huge 8/8 and just over 3 inches long, I was worried about blade flex but it didn't show any signs of flexing.

  17. Great shave before work today. The A1 has a vintage blade in it. I am able to keep it shaving using the strop. This does not work with modern blades for me but the vintage Auto Strop blade does. Added some menthol to my Monday with Super Max cream and daylogic Brisk AS. The brush is a ER 150 I reknoted many moons ago. I do not think I ever used it and I have no idea where the boar knot came from. Great shave to start my work night!!
