Thanks Jason. They are similar, but not identical, you are correct. They do pair well. My tube of Proraso cream bit the dust a while back, so I can't do a direct "Nose-to-nose" comparison.
September 17 SOTD: Razor: Gem Bullet Tip Blade: Gem Stainless Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: CO Bigelow Aftershave: Proraso Green Additional Care: Osage Rub Stirling Unscented PSB It was another great shave with the Bullet Tip and CO Bigelow. Two easy passes and DFS. A little Proraso Green AS finished up, and I was off. This is going to be a bit of an odd week for me. I am heading to Cincinnati on Wednesday for a conference that starts next week. They always take advantage of these conferences to add some industry committee meetings, which is what I get to do Thursday - Sunday. I don't normally travel for work over a weekend, so it will be a pretty long week. It will be a busy few days getting ready at work and home to leave. I hope everyone has a great day!
Veddy Nice! Eggcelent! I'm glad you got along well with the MMOC Perry! They are a beast of a razor and are built so well they can make to hell and back and still shave( as evidenced by the condition of this particular example)! Fantastic photo too! Awestruck! Jim, you really make me think about framing my photos in different ways. Absolutely stunning! Fantastic photo, Jim! Safe travels and I hope the time away from home goes by quickly.
SEptember 17th Schick E2 w Personna (3) Stirling Port-au-Prince SS TGN Finest/Maple Thayers Barrister’s Reserve Spice AS Back home and back to the E2 for the 3rd day. Whipped up a nice lather with the P-au-P. I agree with others who have commented that the mutton tallow formula is a great performing soap, but that this particular scent is not a favourite. 3 passes with the E2 easily knocked down 40 hrs growth and I am quite smooth. As Andrew correctly pointed out, this E2 isn’t significantly different than the E3. I’ll use it through the end of the week, I think, and then get on to a few other SEs. The Spice splash doesn’t really match the Vetiver&Lemongrass of the soap, but it sure is awesome. Have a great day all!
SOTD Striling SEptember 17th Razor: Gem Heavy Flat Top (G-Bar) Blade: Gem Stainless Brush: Yaqi Ruby Red(24mm, Frigate Class) Soap: Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood AS: Baxter of California Shave Tonic and ASB (Last minute substitution) When I took my SOTD photo I had intended to shave last night but since that didn't happen and since my face need a little more pampering(more on this in a sec) I called an audible and used the Baxter Duo. So my shave started by loading a brand new Gem stainless into my G-Bar (from the 10 pack dispenser found on Amazon, not bulk packaging), made a nice slick super goop later from the Vanilla Sandalwood, and went to work. As the shave went on I noticed that it started to get progressively rougher. I powered through three passes, but I should have changed out the blade. I do believe that this was the first dud Gem blade that I've ever had. I finished with a generous application of the Baxter shave tonic followed by the ASB to soothe my slightly irritated skin. Have a great Monday my friends!
