Good luck with the exhibition tonight, Perry. That MMOC looks like it has been well-loved! Great photo, Clint. I had the Felce Aromatica in a bar soap and found the scent quite intoxicating. I think I'll pull the trigger on the soap. Put that one on a calendar, Jim. Amazing. I know what you mean about the weekend trips, Jim. Seems to take time away from the family. Safe travels. Where do you rank the G-Bar in you Gem stable, Andrew? For smoothness? Efficiency?
September 17, 2018 Razor: Schick L7 Championship Injector Blade: Vintage Personna Twin (3) Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH A part of me felt guilty this morning for not giving one of the Gem razors another go. To be honest, though, I'm enjoying this combo too much. Schick Championship FTW!
September Focus AoS Peppermint~~Stirling 24mm Finest~~D3 Gillette Adjustable~~Schick Krona (3)~~Florida Water Focus Gear: n/a This shave does not qualify for this month's focus, but it does qualify as "OUTSTANDING" The AoS Peppermint isn't nearly as potent as the Glacials from Stirling, but there is a pleasant amount of menthol. For all of the flak that Art of Shaving receives, I think their creams are of excellent quality. Great protection and slickness. My Stirling fan always "gets on base". Not fancy. Not expensive. Not snooty. Just a magnificent brush at an amazing price. Fatboy set to "7" (I don't know why, just picked 7, see my comments on adjustables from last month) 3 pass BBS. Really chilled my face down with the mentholated Florida Water.
Excellent picture, Joseph! I like the pairing of Florida Water and Peppermint soap. Kind of a summer and winter thing working.
The G-Bar is probably the smoothest(when you have a good blade in it)/mildest Gem type razor that I own. It is definitely capable of producing a BBS finish though and I do like the weight advantage it has over the Push Button and Featherweight (All three razors use the same head design) Excellent photo, Joseph! I've stopped in to AOS on a few occasions but none of their products ever really caught my fancy enough to make me open my wallet. Thanks Jim, The Shave Tonic and ASB took care of it pretty well.
Lots of great photography on the thread today gentlemen. Nice work to all! Got to give a big shout out to Jim as this is a show stealer! Shavey worthy for sure.
