September 18th Razor: Timeless Bronze SB Blade: Personna Lab Blue(2) Brush: Envy White Supreme 8 Ball Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: Stirling Gentleman Stirling Orange Chill witch hazel AS: Stirling Gentleman Great shave to start the day. Two pass with touch up. DFS. I've been struggling with my lather the last few days. I introduced two variables, scuttle and brush. Today I eliminated the scuttle and was rewarded with the usual excellent Stirling lather. I have tried the scuttle with soap pressed into the bottom, brush loaded on the puck, warm and cool. I've been getting good enough lathers but not what I'm used to. I need to spend more time with the scuttle, probably make some practice lathers in the evening. Doesn't make sense, it's a bowl, it should be a non issue. Anyway... Have a great day! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Great shave and photo Perry. How did the band do in the exhibition yesterday? Fantastic photo Jim. I am sure you'll get the scuttle figured out.
September 18, 2018 OneBlade Genesis V2 Modified Gem PTFE SOC Mistura Taj MdC Myrsol Agua de Balsamica A fantastic shave to start the morning. As expected the MdC was easily to load and lather. The herbal medicinal scent filled the room and lasted throughout the shave. Two passes and touch ups on my jawline and lower right neck ended in a perfect BBC shave. A splash of Myrsol Balsamica and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
It has been my experience that a scuttle (water) can be too hot for some soaps and they start to break down. Try using water that isn't too hot.

Thanks, Joseph. That was my first thought so I eliminated filling the outer bowl altogether. At that point it just becomes a heavy bowl. I'll do some practice lathers and figure out what I'm doing wrong. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thank you, Jim! Thank you, Clint! The band did a nice job last night in the heat and humidity. We bring in adjudicators to provide comments for us so we can improve for the contests down the road. We go to our first contest this Saturday, so we have a short week to implement some of the changes. But I'm proud of their efforts! Thank you, Jim!
Burma shave today with brush and soap. The Deb was outstanding as usual. I like it more then the Hussy!! I posted the video of the shave in my SOTD at TOST. http://theoriginalsafety2.com/post/53467
Wonderful photo, Jim! Can't help you much on the scuttle. I have one that I use sparingly, and use cold water when using it.
