September 21, s018 Razor: Stick Schick (J2) Injector Blade: Japanese Schick Twin Injector (2) Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger Soap: Hendrix Classics & Co sample Post: Alum, Listerine, WH DW and DD had an early appointment so I took the opportunity to try the Hendrix Classics soap sample that I've had for a while. A others have pointed out, it is a soft soap with a consistency like Cella. I had no problems making a decent lather. I'm not sure how I feel about the scent profile but that may be due to the fact that I've been using unscented soaps for a while. Meanwhile, the Stick Schick and the Twin performed as well as expected. I have to admit that I like these novelty L-type Injectors. I really need to try and find a Grip and a Paul Revere one of these days. Anybody want to trade for a Paul Revere Trac-II compatible?
I seem to have very bad luck with dedicated ereaders. I started with a Rocketbook when it was the first on the market and it lasted for many years. Eventually it conked and I replaced it with another Rocketbook around the time the company was taken over by someone else. That one died within a year -- just as the company did too. And the Rocketbook format died with it, leaving me with about 1000 electronic books I could no longer read. So I eventually went with a Kobo that uses or reads all standard formats. It crashed within a year. I got it replaced under warranty and the replacement died just after the warranty expired. So I bought another one; dead within a year. So I started reading books in html on my PlayBook. That worked for a couple years until the download cable connection between it and my PC with all my books stored on it died. I can now still read books online on my PlayBook from one publisher - Baen Books (SF and fantasy) - but nothing else. So I switched now to Kindle; ten months...

You might be able to use https://calibre-ebook.com/ to convert those Rocketbooks to another format so that you can still enjoy them.
Thank you Jim. I suggest a higher-quality soap. The Proraso tub is not known for protection/slickness. Arko...well, not my favorite, but many do like it. RazoRock is also just an OK soap. Consider: Mystic Water MWF Mike's 3 soaps that won't break the bank, but should provide you with better-quality lathers.
Thanks. I have replaced a lot of them over time but not all of them. And then I have books still stored on my desktop in embiid dedicated format, which died with that publishing company, and others with DRM protection that can no longer be opened now that that publishing company (Fictionwise I think it was called) was bought up and closed by Barnes + Noble...

I don't do high end fragrances, but if you garage sale & thrift store shop try a sniff at Avon Wild Country AS. NIB or slightly used vintage decanters commonly sell for US$1.00 to $5.00. Many folks are sensitive to lime Essential Oil. Even if you aren't straight up allergic it's known to accelerate UV light damage and increase sunburn. Being semi-retired I only shave for my own desire. 36 - 48 hours is my next shave unless I skip another day. You didn't get yours yet? We keep them on the table next to the cookies and First Aid badges.
Paul, I know you wanted to complete NB18, and you made a valiant effort indeed. There's no need to beat yourself up. NB18 is just a way to regain some restraint and simply enjoy what you have. Some folks in our hobby eventually realize they've gone a bit overboard...at least I have, and this is just one way to pull back on the reigns. You actually role model restraint on a continual basis around these parts. Sometimes there's a need to replenish items "when the time is right," and that's what you're doing. Enjoy your new acquisitions.

That's a great shave to end the week, Andrew. For such a young guy, Logan totally understands Fridays...with Grandma available 24/7 on speed dial, he's lounging around with the Bed Head and a Drumstick. Seriously, he is growing up amazingly fast, and it brings joy to my heart to see him every Friday. It won't be all that long before you have him standing next to you in the bathroom with his own little "razor" and a face full of lather.

Me too, and it drives everyone around me nuts. I have a sister-in-law who loves getting dressed up. Anytime I'm going to be with her, I will wear dark dress socks and a pair of athletic shoes. White socks and sandals is another signature look. I'm not into the droopy drawers, either, but I dropped my pants once to prove to another sister-in-law that I was wearing the underwear she got me as a gift. Funny thing...she started getting me socks after that episode.
I wouldn't have put Wild Country into the Fougere category. To me Brut is more of what I think of when I think of Fougere
I have that Razorock sloap too... Oh, I'm not beating myself up, Charlie. In the case of Local Gent, I figured I'd better act ASASP or I'd lose the chance at getting it. It's the same way I bought one of my cars. I said yes before a customer I just saw went in and asked about similar makes. He wasn't going to get the one I was just beginning to like!!
