  1. What a great way to start the weekend, Brian. That's a very cool razor and brush combo. Good luck finding a nice sport coat that doesn't break the bank.
  2. :thanks: They renamed Cool to Eucalyptus accord to people at Stirling, but in my opinion it's not the same soap. It was a Stirling original scent.
  3. Thanks very much for your kind words Charlie. Means a lot to me. Doing well next appointment 9 October 2018. :)
The El Druida brush is outstanding. I believe I have 6 of his brushes. Not a bad brush in the bunch.
  4. Jason, you're just a kid, but the great news is that you still have hair. ;) I'll be 57 next week, and it started happening to me well before I hit 55. I get my haircut next week, and I'm gonna ask for the senior discount!!
  5. Saturday SEptember 22

PAL Adjustable injector on Low / vintage American-made Schick Super Chromium (10)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles
    Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap sample
Alum and TSD Milk Aftershave Sandalwood

Not much to say today other than "good shave!"...
  6. Outstanding setup with an amazing brush Joseph. :happy096:

  7. I'll be praying for a good report on October 9, Doug. My Bride's oncologist saw something he didn't like in her recent blood work and wanted her to get a CT scan a few days ago. We found out this week that it was 100% OK. The waiting is hard, for sure, but God is good!
  8. Thanks, Jason. OCtober should be another good month with scents that I really enjoy.

  12. No trade secrets Jason.
Flitz and some elbow grease. The '56 SS is original. My '40 Milord Tech is a 24k re-plate; '41 Ranger Tech was NOS; '38 Senator is a Rhodium re-plate; Gillette New SC is also a re-plate; everything else you will ever see is original.

Thanks Charlie. The SS shaves like a dream.
    Beautiful Douglas.
    OMG...sorry my friend.
    Here's a funny story.
When I worked as a sous chef, 99% of the time, my head is covered. One day, I am up in the office and a really cute, young secretary walks in. She takes one look at me (without my cap) and says, loud enough for the entire office to hear: "You're bald!". Can you say "extreme shrinkage"?
  13. Where do you guys find these razors? Doug, that is a real beauty!

  17. Witticisms aren't my strong suit...
  18. SEptember off to the country

Hendrix Classics & Co. sample soap
    The King 34mm badger brush
    The Bunny OC Adjustable SE
    Pinaud Clubman After Shave Lotion
SOTD 09222018.gif Headed out of town for an hours drive to an afternoon wedding. My stepsister's/ex-sister in law's daughter getting married in a barn. Good thing since it's raining. Thought I'd go Classic scent and the Hendrix soap goes well with Clubman. I resourced some outside advice in The Chub Club thread. This brush put together by Steve @Vlasta has a huge badger knot. I was struggling to get it to build and release lather. Consensus by my outside consulting firm suggested face lathering and use more product. Great success! A bit of blooming softened the long lasting sample provided by Pete @Pete123, followed by loading the well shook out slightly soaked brush until I started seeing lather in the small bowl. Couple dribbles of water at the base of the knot, and lather happened. Right there on my face? Yup, no suribachi needed. Still had to squeeze the knot to get in my 3rd pass, and clean up fiddling. Otherwise a successful procedure and wisdom gained. So it's off to the country to see my inlaws, outlaws, and associated folks get hitched. I'm hoping they coordinated the reception in a Country Style. Maybe BBQ and longneck beers...
    Good Shaves Y'all!
  19. Nice, Rick. Have fun at the wedding.

  20. Wow. Tough crowd this morning.

I’m sure it was just your wisdom that made her think you were older, Jason. At least that’s what I’d be telling myself, anyway.
