You smell old because you are old! Excellent! Very nice, Perry! fantastic shot, Jim! Great pic, Clint! I hope the Dr. visit goes well! Glad to see the SliceMaster took no toll today, Jason!
I forgot to post my shave yesterday... Monday SEptember 24 PAL Adjustable injector on Low / vintage Schick Super Chromium ( 12) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristle Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap sample Osage Rub Two pass DFS. Blade seems to be losing some steam. Sample nearly gone. Tuesday SEptember 25 PAL Adjustable on High then medium / vintage Schick Super Chromium ( 13) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristle brush Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap sample Alum and Osage Rub The soap sample finally died today. All that was left was some small blobs loose in the bottom of the mug. The blade also seems to be going. On High for the first pass, it had a lot of presence and seemed quite rough. With the adjuster turned down two notches to the middle of the scale, the second pass was smoother. The blade no longer seemed terribly sharp for either pass, however. With the razor on High and a new blade, I would expect to be BBS - and possibly bloody - in one pass. Today I am merely DFS and borderline at that. Might be time to bank this blade and move on... Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!
A pair of great shaves. John! I often notice a blade stops shaving as close long before it starts to feel rough.
Razor: Mongoose B2 w/Custom handle Blade: Captain Titan Mild Brush: El Druida Cocobolo 2 Band Soap: CRSW Jeff's Soap A/S: Myrsol F/Extra Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood of Central American trees belonging to the to the genus Dalbergia . Only the heartwood is used; this is typically orange or reddish-brown in color, often with a figuring of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. The Mongoose handle was made by a machinist who is a prototype machinist so more about accuracy than finish, which is why I hand polished them so they aren't perfect. The heavy one (SS) is modelled on the Futur, the idea being to add mass to the end of the handle to make it less head-heavy. The aluminum one was my design to see if I could make a lighter razor without making it hard to control hence the greater diameter. Purchased from Paul at ATG from England. A great 2 passes with a clean up and I'm ready to go, however, I forgot where I have to go.
Thanks for the well-wishes friends. I am happy to celebrate my birthday right here at TSD with a terrific membership gang.

Saul Goodman, well actually Jimmy McGill, coveted a Cocobolo desk when he was a new attorney working his way up. Apparently having that taste in wood leads one to bigger and better things like operating criminal enterprises and laundering millions. I understand its appeal! (ok, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul references for the day used). That is one fine looking brush.
Wonderful photo Jason. Love the warm colors. Beautiful razor Andrew. Congrats. Wow. That is a first class travel setup Brian. Excellent write up John. Wonderful photo Amigo. Lovely photo Joseph.
