Have you tried Ballenclaugh soaps? Most of their scents are very unique and hard to compaire to other scents on the market. Honey Tobacco is not like any other tobacco scent, it almost smells like a barnyard (in a good way lol) and has a musty vibe to it, something like Country Club Barnstormer.
Eclipse Red Ring/Supermax BDT. First shave with this razor, milder than I expected. Not as efficient as I'd like for my head shave.

Today's shave was with a NOS razor. It hadn't been used, but still had a sharp edge. But, not shave ready. I needed to do a lot of stropping(120 strokes), before I felt confident to use it. I had an Okay 2 pass shave, that surprisingly left me with a BBS shave. This razor could use a few laps on my Welsh Slates, to smooth it out. Other than that, this is a very well made, and fun little razor. As for the brush, this was its maiden voyage, and was a bit of a shedder, and stunk. I'm confident this will correct itself soon. It was soft, and lathered well. Razor- "Ontario", by Geneva Cutlery Corp. Geneva New York. Brush- Wilkinson Sword Boar Hair Brush. Solingen Germany. $6.90 shipped. Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice.

not much variety there, eh Tim? (chuk yuk yuk). But Solstice looked to be one to consider from PAA when I first saw all their different kinds.
SEptember is a Stirling month! September 27 Razor - Type M Schick Injector Blade - Soap - Stirling Black Ice Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Finish - Alum Hard to believe we're almost finished in September but here we are. Three days to go after tonight. It's been another good month around here and the SE razors have proven their worth! I can say the same for tonight's shave with the Type M Schick. I left it wide open and went for the baby and found it without even trying. It's just a matter of setting the angle, letting the razor do the work and guide it home. I tried the Stirling Black Ice soap tonight. The official scent is Anise - so a nice licorice scent was strongly in the room. I'm a personal fan of black licorice so I really enjoyed the shave. Plus, lathering from a black puck that turned into the usual creamy goodness of Stirling is a nice visual. It's a beef tallow soap so the normal awesome performance and after-shave face feel is a part of it. I would definitely consider adding this as a full tub purchase. The menthol kick at the end is very nice too. Really leaves you feeling the cold. Some notes ahead of the month-end. OCtober is, of course, open-comb razor month for the theme and I offered up Oleo as the potential theme soap for the month. If that's something you haven't heard of they are the makers of El Caballero. So - if you have any Oleo Soapworks products in your den, feel free to break them out for OCtober. However, since I suspect it's not as prevalent as some other brands (or have I missed something) I'm modifying it to "Oleo and Oddballs" for the soap theme. How does that work? Well, if you have an Oleo product you've got it. But if you have other soaps that don't get used much this could be their chance too. I have a few like that to add to the El Caballero for the month. Anyway, just some things to help you get ready if you want to play along with the theme. As always, of course, themes are optional. Have a great Friday tomorrow!
