  2. More of a "stealth comb" than an open comb. But it works.

  3. I would enjoy passing one on to a convert if you're willing to let me do that, only if they're not claimed in 24 hours of course.

  12. If I remember correctly, I didn't set it down too far. I usually put synthetics at around the same depth and I used epoxy. Just thinking maybe those knots are made more dense than others, not sure though.
  13. Well, I shaved with it today and it was about as expected. The pre-War Tech head doesn't seem to have made much difference to how it shaves. Bottom line: a very nice shave with a little noise from the Alum that was probably the result of two days in a row of very close shaves.

Getting the head coated/replated is an option. The handle, however, has enough dings in the knurled areas (including the ball) to probably not make that worthwhile.

Since I already have a nice New LC, I'd be willing to pass this on to a 30DC member who wants to try one. Reply here if you're interested.
  14. I must've missed that meeting. Thanks, Rick!

  18. Well, I went out and expended a vast sum on a bottle of Brasso this morning, then used it on my razors. I would say Brasso is still the best for easily shining up brass. It couldn't do too much for the two rather dull-looking nickel-plated razors, but it even cleaned up the knurling on the handles of those a little. Overall, I am quite pleased with the results - the brass is about three shades lighter:

    After Brasso:

I will now put them through their paces for the next couple weeks. After that, they have turned out to be in good enough shape that almost any of them would be a suitable candidate for a replating or coating...
