Two asides regarding the Jaws ....there were some fairly common QC issues from Pearl early in the production of the top cap, causing many to swap caps out to avoid Death by Misalignment. I trust you've verified you are ok there....and speaking of caps, the SLOC top cap has proved to be a particularly good match with the Jaws/Pearl bottom plate. .
hello folks wednesday night shave..tried the military set fluted handle with the rfb tonight.as with the early techs ,changes the weight and balance. great shave.. i need to find a way to make the thin or fat handles heavier as i love their look.used the canadian blade co. prairie cedar soap. nice stuff, thick and slick, nice scent.nacet blade and the wilki brush.worked a treat ,lost a hair or 2, but thats a new wilki. going to use the rfb a few more times then maybe the new lc. proraso sandalwood splash to finish. nice 3 pass dfs shave, no drama.have a great day, gary
You leave the OCMM out of this! It's a nice, mild and smooth shaver! Particularly when you palm strop the PTFE blades for that placebo effect like I do! It is! It's a Fatip Grande I remember it making Chris' list of the best of each kind of razor!
SOTD October 4, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick H1 injector Brush: Zenith B02 boar Soap: Mystic Water Irish Traveller Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man aftershave I was inspired by @Primotenore to use some Mystic Water soap this morning. Pretty nice shave with this combination other than some tingle or burn on my neck while the soap was waiting to be shorn away. Upper face felt fine but a little tingle on the most sensitive part of my neck (lower right). Didn't see any irritation and the shave came off quite well otherwise. I know Rod from Stirling says that Sharp Dressed Man is a controversial product because some people have an adverse reaction to it. I've never had that with the Stirling version but Irish Traveller is also a Green Irish Tweed clone. I've only used this soap one other time and don't recall the tingle, so further experimentation is necessary. Have a great day!
Good looking razor. With shaves like that, I don’t blame you for leaving it alone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great looking shave and photo Perry. Hope the soap works out for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Perry, I had a similar experience with WSP Gaelic Tweed. There is definitely a common ingredient across the manufacturing board, which many of us find irritating. (no pun intended).

Nice Sheraton...(you know how I feel about the OC TTO's). Purchased a Sheraton once...turned out to be a Senator. (You can tell by what kind of screw is on the inside of the handle, thanks to @PLANofMAN for that info).
Thank you, Jim! Thank you, Clint! Right, I think that's what Rod at Stirling meant when he talked about Sharp Dressed Man and how some people just don't get along with it. He mentioned an ingredient that must be included for the scent to be right, and I guess that ingredient can cause irritation for some. Anyway, I'll try the soap again soon and see if it does it again. Thank you, Jim!
