Thank you Gentlemen. It was a good morning with Mom. Back home now and ready for a day of SEC Football and adult beverages. Don't worry, I won't buy anything tonight. I did that while drinking Thursday night.
Great shave and photo Perry. I know the feeling on moving slowly. I overs sampled the bourbon and Ale 8 One we brought back from Kentucky. I felt bloody awful Friday morning. Great shave report Charlie. Wonderful photo and shave Jim. Have a great weekend with the family.
OCtober 6th Travel Shave NEW SC w Vintage ‘Spoiler’ (1) Palmolive Stick Omega/Walnut Thayers Booster Polar Ice Shaved at the in-laws. Brought the NEW for the OC focus and the Spoiler for the ‘odds and ends’ focus. These blades came generously from @Linuxguile . Awesome blade today. Everything worked as it should, but the brush definitely needs some more break in time. 2 passes and I am smooth enough. Have a great weekend all!
How’s this for Odds and Ends, and OCtober? I found this razor in a box of miscellaneous pocket knives. I have no idea where it came from. It appears to be the mighty Micromatic Open Comb, (MMOC.) the blades came with anothernrazor purchase. I have never used a Gem SS PTFE blade before, but the four above it in the case were discolored in places, so I pitched them. This soap sample has been going since Dec 2016, and I think it only has one or two shaves left, so I will keep going with it until it’s gone. Three passes, razor wasn’t as bitey as I expected, good shave by sound, three passes, no blood, and a BBS. The Alum was a little warm, but not bad. Great shave with razor and blade I haven’t used before.
A local shop has a limited supply of wetshaving stuff, and of the aftershaves, I liked this scent the best. It’s a light colongne scent with a little bit of floral sweetness. Right up my alley for scent. Short lived, so will last about as long as my drive to work. Good option for if I am working closely with people. The feel is good, neither drying or greasy. It’s a very nondescript AS that can pair with most soaps.
Pitching the discoloured blades was a good idea, Adam, because I am fairly sure they were carbon steel and not PTFE. I can see the marking "009" on the blade in that cartridge. That's how the shaving carbon blades are marked. The PTFE are marked "GEM" on one side and "Stainless" on the other.
