The Haul: October 2018

Not quite identical? At the bottom, the three polished areas are wide on one, skinny on the other? Could be the variation of had crafted VS. production line machine made.

 

Looks like a wide unsupported area between the edge of the cap and the guard bar. Think it'll shave loud?

 

It's similar enough to the other Gibbs razors I don't expect a lot of difference. No louder than a Progress/Variant or Rockwell.

 

My mother-in-law knows of my shaving hobby and gave me this travel brush. This is a Crabtree and Evelyn badger brush. Fun item!

 

Full RAD ahead, I got this in the mail Today.

Kriss Kross swivel head
Cut up a used GEM Persanna blade for a template. The new blade chopped down for a good fit with no back slide. Will make a better template when I have time.
The edge of the blade fits so there is no points exposed.
See how it shaves in the morning.

i just got home, in the mailbox...should last a while..

 

After trying the PAA Controversy EdP, I liked the scent so much, I had to pick up the soap and AS and threw in the Ciderhouse 5 seasonal bundle to avoid shipping. Both bundles really smell great and I look forward to lathering them up. I really like how PAA is just upping their game with the new AS bottles and quality products. The aftershave's did not come in the new boxes, but they added a nice touch with a card stating who packed the shipment. Even though the card is not a big deal, to me it is a personal gesture that emphasizes pride and quality.

 

So my nos old spice set came in and some good and bad...

The good...
The after shave is almost full. I’m assuming some evaporation but it’s mostly full.. box has some shelf wear but totally intact and the foam insert is not broken or crumbling. There is a small booklet showing other products and a coupon that doesn’t have an expiration date..

The bad...
The deodorant stick has dried up some and shrank. The scent is strong still but I’m not sure if I can use it...

I’m thinking of figuring out how to melt some Original old spice and use the deodorant holder as a shave stick holder.

 

Was at Goodwill and found an unused false straw (polypropylene) fedora for $2. My size, lightweight, breathes okay, and can wear it in the rain to keep my glasses dry. Got a couple compliments on it at work.

 

The brown one is very handsome. It would be a perfect match for my tortoiseshell Personal Touch Trac II.
