You are good man Adam, if I had known that I would have ordered an extra set. I think it will just add to the 30DC mystic and maybe more people in search of cookies.

  5. So a question from a young newbie. Is it alright to shave with a safety razor with acne? How should I go about doing it?

My mother laughed at me a couple years ago. Brand new to the Wet Shave scene & I said something like, "Hey I just discovered something. This soap is great!" Like all mothers who raised sons she'd spent years trying to get me to stand closer to a bar of soap.

I'd consul you to grab your new shave soap and brush and make a "test lather". Then use the brush to apply it. Leave it on for a couple minutes. Maybe see how the brush feels against your skin. If it's a little scratchy and scrubby, that's good. It's called exfoliation - removing dead skin cells. Rinse the lather off, and pour a little of that witch hazel or alcohol based aftershave in your hand and give yourself a gentle cheek slapping application. Those two post shave products will help to kill bacteria on your skin and may help clear up your acne. I didn't mention shaving yet. Only trying out the soap and post shave products. If your face reacts to either by getting all red or irritated, better to know before you start shaving with a razor.

Nice pic, Adam! You're close on that soap. Do Stirling samples count as a finished soap? I'm asking for a friend as I'm not even halfway through any of my samples.

I think @RyX gives some good advice. When you get to actually shaving, remember to keep the pressure to a minimum. If you keep a light touch, it will help with the acne. A lot of men continue to get occasional pimples, I know I do, but I usually don't have too many problems with a good angle and light touch.

Yes, anything over 1oz can be counted in our contest. Stirling samples are at least an ounce but often more than that.

Nice, Adam! You think that’s one shave but the dregs often seem to multiply and fight us off.

Thanks very much, Paul. We took my sister back to the airport, and she's on her way home as planned. No troubles with high winds yet since we're a few miles inland. We're hanging out at the Hampton Inn tonight, sipping the free coffee, and watching the weather channel. Winds and rains are expected to kick up during the night. Local officials are talking about closing the bridges to the beach at 3 a.m. We hope to return to the condo tomorrow evening. We'll see how that goes. Things are looking up for later this week:

Our hotel is a hop, skip, and a jump from our favorite Italian restaurant. What a coincidence! It's funny how that happened. I guess that gives us a reason to stop by there tomorrow. :)
