OCtober 9, 2018 The Aluminum Ascension has been a revelation to me. Not for the shave or quality of shave that it provides but, just because it is so light weight. I’m accustomed to razors with some extra beef and substantial feel and those razors doing all of the work, not something flimsy and almost toy like in nature. Truthfully, I’ve been proven wrong (many, many times over. I’m usually more wrong than right anyways) as this little wonder shaves with complete satisfaction and pleasure. I toss this little thing around my face and race around contours with ease. Truly never judge a book by it’s cover...... at least in my case. Silly me.

Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Wash Williams Mug Shaving Soap Jayaruh #305 Gem Damaskeene OC GEM Blue Star CS SE CWR Granddad's AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #305 brush. I did two passes with the Gem Damaskeene OC Safety Razor with a GEM Blue Star CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

OCtober 10, 2018 The Muhle R41, the contemporary version, 2013 and up. No where near the aggressiveness of the original 2011 but, it can still shave with the best of them and if your not careful, it can nic you. Much smoother with above average efficiency and feel. What’s it’s biggest issue? It needs to be made in S/S. Then, Muhle might have an Immortal in it’s hands. I do miss my 2011 R41 but, I make do nicely with this one. Everyone should try an R41, at least the tamed version.....
