Wonderful shave today, with an American made razor. I had a very very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. Great razor.

Razor- Geneva Cutlery "Pyramid Razor"

Well, good morning everyone

This mornings shave was not what I had hoped for.
Razors- GEM Jr./GEM/Micromatic/ Durham Duplex
Blades- Personna GEM 62-0178/62-0165/Personna 72-0200
Soap- Proraso Red
Brush- Omega badger
Finish- Nivea


Well I tried to use my new to me Durham Duplex razor, but it is not to be. The blades I have are way way to dull for my wire brush wiskers. The razor travles around fine, but I was pulled all over the bath room with the blade. I made it through one pass but it was tough. I finally finished my face with me MMOC. I used the GEM Jr. for the daily head shave.
Disappointed, sure who wouldn't be? If I can get a sharp blade for my Durham Duplex razors, I think they'll be a winner.

Hybrid ATT SE2 on Jürgen Hempel Ti Handle / Kai Captain Titan Mild SE / Wild West Brushworks Custom / TAOS Kingston LE Bourbon Cream

Thought I was hedging my bet going to a known milder blade with the more aggressive head; fist experience with an open comb SE or DE. More blade feel/feedback but one of the better first passes I've experienced, hopeful a more aggressive blade will get majority of areas on first pass.

'Nother shave, 'nother Bulldog set to try 1919 No.17G today...

 

So I was looking through my den and wanted to pull off a shave for tomorrow’s meetings. Needed one after the long and stressful day I had today between the two businesses. Low and behold I found my very first actual straight razor(that I thought I sold). My Very First Theirs Issard that I bought from Phil Sanchez from Classic Edge. I’ll never forget the joy in my eyes when I first got this razor! Butterflies n shit it was like I met my wife and tried to get her pants off on the first date( didn’t happen but hey ya gotta try) any who I haven’t used this thing in probably more than 6 months lol. Which is half of my wet shaving lifetime! Still a great shaver but you look back and your like... who ever says the steel doesn’t matter... just needs to stop talking! Anyway here is my Shaviversary Shave lol!
