Tabac Thursday's Shave

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #47 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Valet VB2 Safety Razor with a Feather FHS-10 SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Beautifully ferocious and a shave that very few open comb razors can match. Sound technique, a light touch and this razor will deliver one of the sweetest BBS shaves a man can give himself. Paired it with the Blackland Dart handle for this shave, looks like it was meant for it.....

Looking at one on the "bay" as I write this...

 

New Short Comb. First shave with weighted handle. Very nice. Mild but effective.

 

It's the three piece Cooper that takes proprietary blades. When loading the Monobilt you have to be sure to get the blade under the tab on the end opposite the hinge.

This Old Type was owned by my Great Uncle who died in the early 1930's. It was given to me by Aunt who passed away at 92 last year. The razor is in good shape (tiny crack), but the case is pretty rough.
