  4. Saturday morning OCtober 20

Gillette NEW LC with Durham handle / Astra SP (4 or 5)
    Vlasta T-400 badger brush
    Italian soft almond frankensoap
Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal and Clubman VIBR

The brush and soap performed in their usual reliable fashion. Actually, all of my brushes are now ones that work well and I enjoy using... (possibly because they work well?)

Today's razor was one of the Gillette NEWs I recently cleaned. The head has a worn lacquer finish; the handle is a solid one-piece steel or more likely nickel-plated brass one that other Denizens have identified as coming from a Durham razor. It makes the razor heavier than with a Gillette ball-end handle but the weight is neutrally balanced in the centre of the palm. Two passes have me a DFS. I didn't bother testing for errors with the alum. I finished with a bit of witch hazel for skin conditioning followed by the bay rum splash for the scent.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  8. Thanks so much Amigo.
  9. :thanks: very much Jim.
  10. I got a new smoker this week, a Masterbuilt 40" electric. It was the years of service award that I chose. Maiden voyage today. I just finished loading ribs and pork belly and in the middle of doing this I found the time to order a new razor. Look at me being productive today.

  11. Nice, Jim! I love smoking meats but haven't had the time lately. Your offerings sounds good!
  12. Thank you Perry. It should make you want to try the Asylum. That's the great soap.
    Thank you gents!

  13. Razor: Gillette Flat Bottom Tech (Fat Handle/Made in England)
    Blade: Feather (1st use)
Brush: Ever Ready w/ 24mm Tuxedo knot
    Soap: Palmolive
    Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive

A rather unremarkable shave. 3 passes left me smooth - this smoothness did take a lot of shaving on the last pass though! The Tech tamed the Feather as expected. All in all, DE razors don't shave/feel as good as SE razors with GEM PTFE blades. That is of course my experience and my face!

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

  16. Since I am a University of Georgia alumni and I live adult beverages, I just had to buy this at the festival today. It’s made with flattened beer caps. I think it’ll look great in our wet bar.

  17. Thanks, Perry. I eat low carb and smoked meats fit the bill perfectly. I make my rub without sugar and use sugar free sauce.
Yeah, I ordered the polished Dart from Blackland. I like shiny.
