Your posts have been a positive addition to the thread, Gary... Getting in is easy enough, getting out is nigh impossible. The 'Rule', as the intro suggests, is an excellent recommendation for newer shavers. Virtually all of us on here tailor the monthly focuses to our own preferences. The Prewar Tech is another great razor. Some of the utilitarian razors don't win any glamour awards, but this Tech with the triangle holes is a quality shaver. I've said it before- there is a reason the design lasted for 40 years.
There certainly is good reason for the Tech to have lasted as long as it did. And even with half the base plate including one of the bar guards disfigured and roughened with corrosion, tonight's example shaved perfectly. I don't think this one could be replated or coated well now, which is a pity, because the old warhorse deserves it.
There's something innately satisfying about donning a self-tied bow tie. I think it's the imperfectness of the knot, and the size of them seems to be larger/fuller than those pre-tied varieties! Super looking tie!
SOTD October 22, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: GEM PTFE Razor: Superior Lather Catcher Brush: JR #142 black badger Soap: C.O. Bigelow cream Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave Excellent shave this morning with a Menthol Monday setup. I forgot how good the Bigelow cream is when I haven't used it in a while. Good stuff. Easy shaving with the Lather Catcher and the blade was binned after the shave as it was time for it to go. A nice splash of Pacific Rush and the day awaits. A little chilly this morning outside - upper 30s F - and I turned on our house heat for the first time since last Spring. But knowing Alabama weather I'll have to switch back to A/C at some point before it's all said and done. Have a great day!

October 22 SOTD: Razor: PAA Ascension SS Blade: Voskhod Brush: Ever-Ready 150 Lather: CO Bigelow Aftershave: Proraso Green Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB Another nice shave with this razor, which is officially a favorite. It is such an easy shaver, just perfect for gym mornings. As always, the CO Bigelow was top notch and made for a nice Menthol Monday. I hope everyone has a great day!
