  12. Exactly. Any razor can be tamed into a puppy with the right technique. A few, like the OCMM, can suddenly revert to killer wolf status without it!
  13. Tonight’s choices

    Razor: Gillette milord
    Blade: voskhod teflon coated
    Soap: johs mountain rain
    Brush: jr147
    As: Nivea psb

Since I only have three oc razors I decided to take one that I haven’t used before, so why not pair it with a blade that I have no experience with either. Even with making choices that kind of stack the odds against me, I had a wonderful shave. The voskhod gave the closet first pass to date for me using a de razor. The Milord also has a very good and balanced feel in the hand. 78A0E90E-EB8E-4321-95B4-5CEE8552F029.jpeg

  14. My mmoc has always treated me pretty good, but I can tell its waiting for me to let my guard down for its moment to go for the jugular.
  15. And yet again, the Voskhod demonstrates its awesomeness! Makes a Czar proud.

  16. OCtober oddball soap & OC

    Frankensoap Deluxe
    The King badger
    Gillette NEW LC
    Rapira Platinum Lux
    Clubman Whiskey Woods

Unknown mix of bits and pieces in the Casual Elegance stoneware sugar bowl gave a "the sum of the parts is better than any one contributor" lather. The RPL blade starting to show its age but did admirable duty tonight. No complaints for the DE. Three passes, and with the lather still flowing some touch-up. A comfortable DFS with no blood spilt.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

  17. OCtober Oleo and Odd Balls!!

    October 22

    Razor - Fatip Piccolo
    Blade - sharp-star.jpg (1)
    Soap - Oleo El Caballero
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

Change up time again. Back to the Fatip Piccolo. One awesome OC razor with a bite to remind you it tries to be the OCMM when it can. Great shaver, though, once you have it under control. I paired it with the incredibly terrible and yucky Sharp Star. Another one out of the supply chain to save you the horror. For the lather, Oleo El Caballero and The Canuck. (This is where I'd usually gloat about winning that bet with the guys again, but I'm much too mature and good hearted to keep bringing THAT up.) This soap really does perform very well. Above average definitely, and I keep thinking I should try a couple more scents. It's just that growing stack of soaps on my shelves in my den that keep me from pulling the trigger.

Three passes and the alum stayed quiet, the baby showed up and all is well in the Lou. Well, ok, so the general vicinity of the Lou. Close enough for government work. Have a great night and a better Tuesday!

  18. Barbasol
    Fatip Grande
    Sharp Star
    Osage Rub

Ever just put on your best Bluetooth headphones, walked outside, pressed play...looked up at Rigel, and wished for just a second... That it was 1997?

Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great Tuesday

    :)
