Congrats Adam. I knew you'd tame the Cooper Monobuilt! The discussion these past few days on this razor will be helpful to anyone starting out with one of these razors. Have a great day, my friend.

 

Don't tell anyone, but one of my travel razors is a Trac II. I use Personna blades in it, and they are very good. I usually swap them out after four shaves. I would have no hesitation trying the Personna injector blade.

It has been fun reading your posts and seeing all your progress.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
Blade: Personna twin
Razor: Schick L1 injector
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger
Soap: Stirling Green
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

Easy shave with the L1 injector paired with vintage twin blade. Too bad twin blades are hard to come by (vintage) or expensive (current production) because they are efficient additions for these milder razors. But, first world problems I guess. Lather from the Stirling Green soap was spectacular and I always enjoy using a Jeeves aftershave. I'll stick with this soap sample for the next few shaves and finish it off.

I will go with the milder Wolfman OC for at least the next several days. The big boar has broken in nicely. The tips are splitting and already very soft. The best thing is the knot has stayed compact and not splayed wide open. For me this makes face lathering a true joy. Three passes and touch ups left me with a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Lavender and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Thanks Clint! I've used it more than any other OC this month for the consistent shaves. Gillette made these well.

That is a good looking boar brush! I haven't tried a Zenith yet. Everything I read says they are better than Omegas. Having used badger 18 of my last 20 shaves I'm about ready to boar it up again.
