  5. Rick, we are only following Cartel instructions by being wordy.
  6. This is terrific. Thanks, Neal! This little corner of the interwebs is a highlight of my day.
  7. Indeed Jason. I should have added "Scents" and "Blades" to the "my discretion" list.
  8. :eatdrink013:
    :thanks: Jim.

  9. Of course I already know I'm going to be placing a HUGE order with Stirling on Black Friday.
  10. My entire Plan For The Month was Ruined -- completely Ruined -- before it ever got implemented. And It's All Your Fault, Jim!

But apart from that, it was a great shave. ;). And moving to a No Repeat November actually looks like it might be kind of fun anyway...

  11. Gents, thanks for the kind words. Jason, I love seeing those vintage instructions. You make a good observation regarding Gillette's "push" toward the canned shaving cream more than 60 years ago.

Neal, I love seeing those old Gillette commercials. I normally don't use the Gillette slide, but I'll try it in my next shave.

It's hard to beat Palmolive, James. 49p brings out a lot of manly beauty. :)

  13. Don't let the announcement of Nomination #4 of my 2019 Stoylin Tony Awards on that day mess up your order :).

  15. Charlie, quit flippin' that Kent brush at me....I'm jealous. :angry017:

  16. Thanks Paul. I appreciate the kind words. I don't see too many Kent fans around here, but if you like a pillowy soft brush, the BK8 is for you. There were a few Kent fans on one of the other shaving forums a few years ago, and I picked up both of mine then. My poor little BK4 has been mistreated so much on my travels that it's starting to lose hairs with each use. I tend to use it without sufficiently soaking it first & I'll stow it away in my luggage while it is still damp. Bad Charlie strikes again. I'm now paying the price for it. It still makes a decent lather, and I'm sure it has a few more years left in it. The BK8, on the other hand, has not been mistreated. It felt like a huge pillow on my face this morning. I can load it with a ton of soap or cream, and it makes a wonderful face lather.

  18. I bought a Kent comb from the Clubman site. Has served me well. I'll have to see about my budget for that brush, but thanks for the tip on the BK8.

  19. Kent combs rock too. I carry one and keep one in the den. It's sturdy, doesn't pull what little hair I have, the teeth have smooth ends, and I like the faux tortoise shell look. :happy088:

My Bride tried a Kent makeup brush, though, and she didn't care for it. It drops an occasional hair, and that bugged her. She prefers synthetic brushes.

I used to pick up my most of my Kent gear at https://www.feelunique.com/, but their selection seems to be dwindling. Too bad...as their prices are very good. I think I got my last batch of Kent combs on Amazon.
  20. I wrote that website down-will have a look.
