Thursday morning November 1 - No Variation already on the rocks...
It's all Jim
@Norcalnewb 's fault. I had my No Variation planned and declared: Gillette Fatboy loaded with new-to-me Shark Super Stainless blade, Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample lathered by Jason/Maggards two-band badger brush in The Dry Dock shave bowl, Thayers Witch Hazel Original Astringent and/or Hendrix Classics Barbershop balm test sample. Then I saw the beautiful photo Jim posted of his gorgeous English Aristocrat, and that reminded me that I found an American Aristocrat among my cased razors last month. It's an early one with the non-notched centre bar. I didn't use it during OCtober, because it has a bar guard, but now that I was reminded of it, I had to take it for a spin.
With a new razor, I couldn't use a new brand of blade, so I loaded a reliable Nacet. Several people have been using Palmolive stick lately, so mine came out. That foreclosed bowl lathering, so for face lathering I went with a synthetic instead of the badger, and chose Jason's other brush, my 30DC LE with the Cashmere knot. Since everything else in The Plan had gone south, I decided to switch the aftershave too, to try my new scent of TSD Milk Aftershave -- Vanilla.
So, this is what my No Variation shave with the Gillette Fatboy et al finally looked like:

It was a wonderful shave though. The Aristocrat/Nacet combo was as smooth as silk and the Palmolive provided a great glide surface for it. Two passes to a near BBS with absolutely no complaints from the alum. The aftershave provided an excellent finish with a great smell.
Tomorrow I will start the No Variation... Or maybe I should just give up now and go with a No Repeat or the even more chaotic No Plan... Or maybe I should do the No Variation after all but with this setup. Opinions?
