  1. That's awesome, Charlie! I'm sure you and your bride are getting very excited. Can't wait to see it. Any timeframe for moving in? Spring-ish...before?

  2. Congrats on all the new goodies. Bursts of mass purchasing separated by short NB periods shows excellent restraint, Jim.

  3. Thanks Bruce. We are excited. I'll share a few more photos after the brick work is complete. The builder estimates being finished in March or April. I'm guessing April or May, as things always seem to go slower than planned. That's OK, though. I'd rather they take their time, and May would be an excellent move-in month.
  4. By "observed" you mean "rested"? :happy097:
Thanks for sharing the photo, Rick! They are adorable! I'm glad that you all had a great day together.

  5. Thanks, Brian. I've checked out the Fine products, particularly that scent, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Looks like that's one for the wishlist now.

  6. Tell me about slow. You may be moved in before I'm done with the bathroom tilework. :happy102:
Yep...the patience will pay off for your new place. You want everything to be done right. Moving is never fun, but yeah...May would be much better weather-wise for doing so.

  7. Great shave, Brian! I hope you and your Bride had fun.
Wondferul setups and shaves, Keith. You are living large, my friend.
The Flying Fickle of Fate selected Sharp Star blades!?! Could the randomizer be rigged? Perish the thought! I always give the Czar the benefit of the doubt. Here's your Participation Trophy.

Awesome photo of your beautiful girls, Rick. :)
Bruce, I have the Fine Platinum and L'Orange Noir. Both are terrific scents!

  10. I have to admit that my NB periods have been much shorter in the past. I am going for a month this time.
  11. Soooooo. I did not get to reply to several comments from last month .. I am already a crack pipe load of post behind for this month...... just let me say from the bottom of my heart.....
:angry019::angry019::angry019::duel::transport024::prrr:. I could not find one of wacking youngens with my cane.

  14. Yesterday I saw a Japanese 6/8 on a BST that caught my eye. Since I have a Japanese 5/8, I decided to shave with it this morning to confirm that it’s too small and so I could pass it along and buy a new, slightly larger, Japanese razor. My plans were foiled.

The better my technique gets with a straights, the more I am enjoying each of these razors for what they are. The Hikari 5/8 operates more like a surgeon’s scalpel, and I really enjoyed this morning’s shave a lot. Unfortunately this surgeon is not talented enough to get a BBS on his neck yet, but that’s not the scalpel’s fault. The Hikari 5/8 will stay in the den.
  15. November 4th
    Razor: Blackland Dart
    Blade: SuperMax Blue Diamond (1)
    Brush: Switchback/TGN boar
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Stirling Port AU Prince
    Stirling Bergamot Lavender witch hazel
    AS: Stirling Port AU Prince

    Good morning!

Wonderful shave to start the day! Two pass with touch up, near BBS. Still getting some extra warmth from the alum which should get better with more practice with the Dart.

Andrew @Linuxguile introduced me to the SuperMax Blue Diamond blades, I like them. Sharp and smooth

Have a great day, gentlemen! [IMG]

  19. Thanks Charlie! From what I remember reading, the Platinum is another one of theirs that sounds appealing. How is the "hang time"? Long lasting? Dissipates quickly?
  20. Congrats on the new job, Fuzzy! What sort of outfit hired our cranky ol' Williams usin', cigar smokin' non-soap bloomin' Fuzzster? :D In other words, whatcha doin' now?
Always a pleasure to see you in this little corner of the world Fuzzy!
