NOVember is NO whatever you want it to be! Apparently. November 6 Razor - Schick Krona Blade - Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain Brush - Omega Pro 48 Post - Alum A bit of a mixed bag tonight. The Omega 48 was my first "real" brush and I used it almost exclusively for several months to start. It's a big softie that works very well. I underloaded it due to not using it much anymore. It takes a LOT of soap but man it can face lather like a beast once you get it right. Paired with the Ozark Mountain soap I knew I was in good shape there. The fates gave me the uber-mild Schick Krona razor and mixed it with the Gillette Super Thin blade, made in Thailand. It's a good blade. Anything that Gillette makes is usually a good blade no matter where they make it. They clearly oversee the production and hold the outsourced factories to task. Shaving with the Krona is sort of like using a Weishi only maybe even a bit milder. You have a very thin margin of error to stay on that tiny gap but once you hit it the razor works fine. The Super Thin is a fairly sharp blade so that helped, but I was thinking a Feather or Voskhod would be a better fit for this razor. Three passes and I can claim a very nice DFS but it would take more to get to BBS. Not necessary, though, and the alum staying totally silent sealed the deal. Can't complain about a shave that goes like this one did, even if it was a bit on the mild and "ordinary" side. One week left for Secret Santa signups! You all have a wonderful Wednesday!
At the beginning of October, I made an offer to the 30DC generally to loan out mainly vintage razors to try. So far, one person has taken me up on it. I thought I would repeat it again this month, then just assume that it's a standing offer and anyone who wants to take me up on it can PM me at any time: I am willing to loan out razors if anyone wants to try something they don’t already have. PM me if interested. Off the top of my head, I have available: Fatip Grande OC, Gillette Old Type OC, Gillette NEW Long Comb OC, Gillette New Improved OC, Gillette Aristocrat, English Aristocrat Jr, English Rocket, SuperSpeed(s), Blue Tip, Pre-War triangle slot fathandled Tech, later Techs. Also Schick E with both opening and non-opening head, Schick G, Schick HydroMagic, Schick M Adjustable and Pal Adjustable injectors. Also Rockwell 6s DE and Supply Co V.2 Single Edge injector. And a Probak OC with Gillette handles. Like I said, if anyone is interested, PM me.

November 7th Razor: Blackland Dart Blade: SuperMax Blue Diamond (4) Brush: Switchback/TGN boar Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: Stirling Port AU Prince Stirling Bergamot Lavender witch hazel AS: Stirling Port AU Prince Good morning! Awesome shave to start the day! Two pass with touch up. DFS+. Muscle memory has me riding the cap so it takes a deliberate effort for me to drop the handle to achieve the angle that works for me with this razor. The reward was a great shave with nearly silent alum. Have a great day! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
