Clubman Pinaud & Chanel Pour Monsieur EDP-Eau de Parfum (not the EDT-Eau de Toilette, they are different), make an amazing combo together. I don't want to apply either one separate (although they are both awesome) now that I know what they are like as a duo. The aftershave is not 'quite' as long lasting or potent, so I bought the body wash to augment the Clubman scent. For baths I use the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements' Club Guy bath soap.

    November 9

    Razor - Gem Clog Pruf
    Blade - Gem Stainless SE
    Soap - Proraso Red
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
    Post - Alum

A long Friday comes to a close. I did a full day on the GrubHub tour today in blowing snow, some broken clouds at times, brisk wind and the temps in the low 30s and dropping. Don't tell me I don't know how to have fun. Home to a homemade pork chop, sweet patotoes and a salad from my wife who knows how to warm my heart. And belly.

The shaving gods decreed single edge tonight with the Gem Clog Pruf. They added the Gem stainless blade, sans PTFE. Proraso red for the soap with the Stirling brush. Put them all together and what do you get? A decent enough sandalwood scented lather and a shave that, while DFS, left me a bit on the irritated side and the alum a bit warm. I'm not used to handling the Clog Pruf yet and that plain stainless blade could use some teflon to tame it a bit. But, for my lack of experience with the blade and razor, not too bad.

Catching up around here and love the conversation and shaves today. We've hit page 70 and it's the 9th of the month. Let's see. Divide the total number of posts needed to break last year's total by the days of the month, then the days of the month by the number of posts already posted, carry the 3, multiply by the co-variant of the fractional equivalent of Pi and......we'll give away that Stirling gift card on a day yet to be determined. Yep. Nothing like doing math to come to a definitive conclusion.

    Have a great Saturday!

Those Turtleship brushes are beautiful arnt they? I believe they are the only ones that use gears, which makes it easy to identify.

    SATURDAY'S SHAVE

    Razor - Edwin Jagger "Kelvin"
Blade - Astra Superior Platinum *7th Shave
    Shave Brush - Scaramouche+Fandango 22mm "Ultra-Soft" Synthetic
Shave Soap - The Shave Den "Sensitive" (Unscented)
Aftershave - The Shave Den "Sensitive" (Unscented) Witch Hazel in an Infinity Jars Ultraviolet Bottle
    Preshave Oil - Lather & Wood's "Unscented"
Post-Shave Balm - Nicci Marie Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging Face Serum
    Deodorant - Herban Cowboy "Unscented"
    Fragrance - Frederic Malle - Bois D'Orage

***EDIT - I got a later start to the day than anticipated, so I held back on this shave with only 1-pass with the grain to preserve my skin for tomorrow morning's more important shave, which is the end of the run of my Autumn/Fall and Monday will begin my cold-weather scents.

I am a bit mad at myself for the late start to the day because the lather I built from The Shave Den soap was PERFECT. The perfect amont of water, the perfect peaks, the perfect consistency, so I skipped the pre-shave oil as I knew the perfect lather would nicely support/protect my skin this time. I could only do one pass and that was upsetting. I got the most I could out of the with-the-grain pass. I used to a very close shave on most days, unless I'm recovering from irritation.

Thanks brother. This fall I got into the seasonal scents and really enjoyed Cider House 5. I'm with you - good stuff. Its funny because I thought Oleo Cider smelled better off the puck but have been putting off buying it since the Maggard's meet in June. I just picked it up and it was pretty good (Only one shave though) but I think my initial impression is Cider House is better in all aspects - even performance. So many claim the Duck soaps are so slick, but honestly, I thought the standard CK formula feels slightly better on the skin overall to me. I think the real sleeper is Controversy. I never see anyone use it (except you).

How's that mash up? I never tried Solstice shave soap. I bought the shampoo and really like the scent. Since the Atomic bay is great, i'm thinking this combo might be awesome. I trying to decide between straight up Solstice or this mash up. I'm favoring the individual version and possibly just trying to mix the 2 on my own - but if the mix is better to begin with, I might just get the mix.
