I was going to say that this is something that @Bama Samurai speaks about here. I think it's entirely plausible... Using a blade at the correct cutting angle should absolutely improve the wear resistance of the edge to some degree or another. It would be interesting to use the same razor and blade combination and deliberately test different angles to ascertain any measure of truth!

I understand and agree with absolutely everything that you are saying! I am not going to make any radical lifestyle changes or join any protest marches. I was just looking to make some different choices in some luxury areas (probably for my own conscience if nothing else).

A nice, quick two-pass shave this evening without touch ups. Resulted in a good finish with excellent face feel. These injectors are the stuff of dreams when it comes to post-shave feeling!

Very cool stories, Gentlemen. My Grandfather was also a WW2 vet. He was also a German citizen, fwiw. His family emigrated to upstate New York from Germany (to be technical, our family name is Prussian, and my grandfather was from what used to be Prussia in the easternmost part of Germany) in the early 1930s after the Nazi rise to power. The family was apparently not aligned with the new government and left. His own dad was in WW1 and had been in Kaiser Wilhelm's personal guard. The Prussian Officer class used to be a real thing.
Anyway, In 1939, when Britain declared war on Germany, Canada joined the fray as well. My Grandfather came across the border from New York to enlist. It would still be a few years obviously before America was involved. He thought he had something to offer as a fluent German speaker and the Canadian Military apparently agreed and sent him to London as an interpreter/translator. He never spoke of anything there, even though he wasn't on the front lines per se, but did meet my Grandmother there and married her right after the war ended. If he would tell any stories, it would be to say that he was probably never fully trusted as a German as they had him interpret a lot of messages that weren't very important. I have no idea if he was being truthful about that. After the war, as a young Canadian vet he qualified for a Veteran's mortgage deal etc, even though he wasn't a citizen and hadn't ever lived here. His new wife, however, was a citizen of the Commonwealth, and they came to western Canada and my dad was born here a year or so later. Funny how life works out.

Great pictures Charlie. My Dad was also in Alaska during WWII - he ran the bowling alley on the base and hated that duty. As he always said - he didn't sign up to bowl - he signed up to fight. What a generation our fathers were part of.

I saw this and am trying to make some simple changes to the luxuries in my life. I am in no way advocating a change, nor am I suggesting anyone needs to take notice! NO POLITICS!
