November 15th Razor: Blackland Vector Blade: Feather Pro Super (1) Brush: PAA Switchback/TGN boar Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: B&M Leviathan Lucky Tiger face tonic AS: B&M Leviathan Good morning! Another No Promises November shave. New soap and aftershave were waiting on the porch when I got home from work and the No Patience part of me kicked in. Wonderful scent! I wasn't sure about it at first but many sniffs later it all came together. I get the leather and sandalwood with a hint of coffee in the background. New software necessitated a new SOTD photo. I had the blade out to clean the razor up for the picture and went ahead and swapped the blade for a Feather Professional Super for my morning shave. Yes I had my reading glasses on. Awesome three pass shave. BBS with silent alum. I don't feel a difference between the Pro and Super Pro blades. The Vector is smooth and efficient with either. Have a great day! Going to be a rough one at work today. That comment literally made me laugh out loud. I really needed it. Thanks, Neal.
It wasn't quite that nice, but pretty nice none the less. We made the trip from Pullman to Houston in about 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was really nice.
November 15 Gillette G-3 Slim Sputnik (1) Simpson Chubby 2 Super Hendrix Classics & Co. soap (8) Alum, Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and CC Bay Rum I brought in a couple of different items for today's shave: a birth quarter Gillette Slim and my Chubby 2 in Super (the Soap Destroyer). I also decided to give the Sputnik blade another try. Surprisingly, the two-pass shave was very good, with only a sparkle from Alum. I'm glad I gave the blade another go. IMO, it's still not as smooth as some of the other Russian blades I've tried. The Slim provided an effortless and smooth shave on a setting of 5. I'll leave it there for the next couple of shaves and then move up the scale. The Soap Destroyer is making quick work out of the Hendrix soap sample. One more shave, and it should be finished. Nine shaves on a soap sample is very generous, and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to try this top tier shave soap. It's cold outside, and the tree limbs are covered with ice. As a result, our electricity has winked at us a couple of times this morning. I figured this would be a good day to finish with a nice splash of CC Bay Rum. We're heading to the dentist's office and to the job site today for a walk-through with the contractor installing our low-voltage wiring. I defer all your technical questions about low-voltage wiring to @Norcalnewb at Houston Cartel HQ. Have a great Thursday!
When I was a workin' man, I had the opportunity to make a few trips in corporate jets. It's a super cool way to travel, and it made me feel like I was on tour with the Rolling Stones.
