James, the bubbly lather might perhaps possibly maybe be corrected or at least mitigated by loading until your brush is soaped to the handle and then mixing in a bowl while slowly trickling in water. It could happen. The burning sensation, well, that suggests either there is something in the soap you have a contact allergy to or else the maker didn't get the chemistry right. And either one kills it on the spot, probably even as a shower soap... I have had The "local artisan" soap experience too and so far, it has never ended well...
Thanks for the thumbs up on the new ProRaso products, Gary. I am hoping they will start to be sold in normal tube sizes as well as the oversized "professional barbershop" bag. The dispenser looks neat though. Who sells them, Rick?
Gifts & Care has them.... https://www.giftsandcare.com/en/bar...766-dispensador-crema-de-afeitar-proraso.html
November 18th Razor: Blackland Blackbird SB Blade: SuperMax Blue Diamond (2) Brush: PAA Switchback/TGN boar Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: Hendrix Classics & Co. Thayers Rose witch hazel AS: Fine American Blend Good morning! Terrific shave to start the day. Three pass, BBS result. It's such a satisfying experience to get a shave like this from the Blackbird. I struggled with this razor. I recall my wife asking me if I would ever be able to use it. Joining the 30DC was a huge help. Have a great Sunday! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
NOvember Focus Mystic Water~~Mondial~~2011 Mühle~~Personna Med Prep We're getting there. No doughnut hole, but clearly the Mystic Water is beginning to "take on water" It's only a matter of time... Will I repurchase? Nope. Honestly, there is not a single soap in my den, that I will repurchase. What, say you? Primo no repurchase? True. The reason being I have so many so many soaps, that a repurchase of anything would be obscene. Now, will I purchase a new soap in the future... Back to the shave. True story... I dreamt last night that I took my brush (not sure which, but it was definitely not a toothbrush) and loaded and loaded and continued to load until the bowl was completely empty and spit-shined clean. How's that for a shaving enthusiast? New thread: "Tell us your most vivid shaving dream" Ready, set, go. Since our member @Terry is challenging himself with his R41, I thought I would break mine out for today's shave too. I have to say that this razor DEMANDS one of the most shallow angles of any razor I have ever used. Since I have never shaved with a straight, I can only surmise, but I expect the optimal shaving angles to be very similar. Nice three passer with no nicks, cuts nor weepers. Finished once again with the ever-dwindling Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel (also a non re-purchase). Not pictured is the Clubman VIBR. I have to say that I have been spoiled using Dominica, Meehan and even Burt's Bees (unique take on BR). The best thing that the Clubman has going for it is the price. Not the greatest Bay Rum by any stretch of the imagination. It has an artificial, chemical scent. Add it to the long list of products that will not be re-purchased.
me too, i got a soap from a store in burnaby that sells locally made products., nice hard puck soap, nice scent. good for holding up the wobbly chair leg...
I forget who sells the dispenser but the price was entirely too much for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

was in euros i think, over $200 plus shipping very cool piece, when i redo the bathroom err den i might consider it as part of the redo budget..
What, specifically, did you struggle with at first with this razor? Nicks? Irritation? Both? What were your conclusions on how to rectify it?
