Today I joined
@John Ruschmeyer in shaving with a gold Tech. Mine is an NDC model with oval slots and the full word Package inscribed on the inside of the baseplate. If I understood John correctly, that makes it a 1950 date.
Today was set for a great shave. The TOBS Avocado cream was my first really good shave product. The Alluminati was my first good badger brush. A Tech is a mild but efficient razor that always delivers. And the Sharp Star is a fine Russian blade.
So why did I suffer through such a crappy shave today? Two passes of non-stop tugging culminating in a barely acceptable CCS. After looking at the possibilities, I think I got a dud blade. I binned it. And I will try a different Sharp Star tomorrow.
At least the splash provided a nice finish.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving (those celebrating it at least).
