  1. My Dad used a DE and then a Trac II. His shave soap was either Lifebuoy, Dial, Irish Spring, or whatever soap was sitting in the dish. I don't remember him shaving with Lava, but he was my Dad and he could do anything.

My Dad's hobbies included knives, watches, fishing gear, and things that go boom. While he would poke fun at my shaving inventory, I think he would understand.

  2. I do have Boellis, Jason. Is Mudder Focker a "dupe" of it?
Boellis Panama is a glorified Cella, IMO.

  5. Umm... Charlie, that's the gardner in my old tuxedos. Obviously I don't do my own yard work.

  7. Great outdoor photo Doug. I bet the warmth of the Bay Rum was welcome.
  8. Excellent shave and photo Jason.

  9. Thank you Clint. Yes the Captain's Choice Bay Rum was meant for a day like today.

  10. Thank you Gents. Jason, I looked for some Chicks in the cabinet but I must have misplaced the partial pack. So I can't say for certain which is sharper. I did load a Proline for the shave tomorrow. It should be sharper than both the Personna and Chick.

  11. I have some Bay Rum setup for tomorrow. It has gotten cold here. Or at least cold for us. When I retire I want to move some place warmer.

  16. That looks like an NOS travel set, John. I really like it. I've seen a hundred of these for sale on eBay, but I don't recall seeing a SOTD post where someone actually shaved with one. I'm glad it worked well for you. Your Tech focus this month has been very interesting and informative.

  19. Great job on the comparison, Joseph! Your reviews of the RR XXX have steered me away from the brand (I don't need another 2nd tier soap); however, I'm very curious about the Acqua di Parma Colonia scent. From the descriptions I've read, I think I would like it.

  20. Doug, that's a wonderful SOTD set up and photo. I can't think of a better scent on a wintry day than Bay Rum. :happy088:
