  1. As I said a few days ago in the November thread, I'm in with an unfocused focus. I've been on fairly tight razor focuses since August and an especially tight one this past month. As a result, I've not touched an Injector since SEptember, my Fatboy and Slim since August, and several of my TTOs since before then. In the interim, I've picked up a few razors including a later Schick J1, a somewhat beleaguered TV Special, an AutoStrop B1 (which, admittedly, I could have used in OCtober), and my first Rolls Razor. Also, I still need to try the Stirling "Naked And Smooth" sample.

Right now, my only somewhat pre-scheduled shave is for December 7 when I will bring out the '41 Aristocrat.

  2. My landlord has been kind enough to me-allowing me to take in my brother-in-law's cat(which my mom used to have)for the winter months, which he also did for last winter. It was great therapy for me last winter(the first holiday season without my Mom). It will be this tine, too. He prefers no pets, so I've been lucky.

  3. Always room for more. Welcome to the beating heart of TSD. We've been breaking records on post counts lately. Just look at the Shave of the Day thread compared to us here in The 30 DC (that's "the thirty day crew" - if something doesn't make sense please ask.).

Yeah, I want to see photos. A couple drool worthy pictures won't stop us from discussing shaving.
  4. The post-count got me the Stoylin giftie.....and I didn't even know there was a post-count competition. :)

  5. I'm curious Paul. Your sister and brother in law have a problem keeping you dearly departed mom's and now their cat during the winter? Do they live in a yurt?

  7. Here's what happened-they had Tater(my BIL's cat)and my sister's two cats together in a smaller house. Tater and one of the other two got into a nasty fight. Tater was "moved" to the attic. She hated that, as she is an outdoor cat. Gradually, they "loaned" Tater to our Mom for the warm months so she could roam around outdoors. She LOVED that. Then the three had a long discussion about our Mom having her full-time. That worked out real well. Our mom had just lost her cat, and decided she was ready for another one. But after our Mom died, my sister and BIL took Tater back-but had to keep her in their barn(by this time, they had moved to a larger house), to avoid the possibility of another fight. There''s very little heat in the barn. My heat is free here. She enjoyed being here last winter, and no doubt will this winter too, but has to stay in the apt. But I have a feeling my landlord won't allow me to have her for a 3rd winter.
  8. It all makes sense now! Thanks for the recap and play by play. Shame the critters can't all get along, but y'all are doing the best you can with what you have available.
  9. I'd like to think they were just "playing", but.....perhaps not.

  10. Late to the party tonight, but I’m in! Love Decadent December. I will focus on some hardware and software faves, as well I have a few recently acquired ‘decadent’ soaps to focus on and pull out for the month. I also have a few Stirling samples I need to finish off.
  11. Shaving, cats and Corvettes.......................this is going to be fun & interesting. Y'all guys are a hoot !

  13. Nothing will stop us from discussing shaving. Face it. As long as there's electricity and internet - we'll talk about shaving.

  17. I'm in for DECember with my Muhle R41 (2013) head & SS Big Bomber handle (aka Hoss Cartwright). I plan to use Feather and various Russian blades to see if the results are different. I also plan to continue my focus of using up my soaps. It should be a great month!
