Very nice, Patrick! I like the Rapira blades too. The Platinum Lux being my favorite. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Thanks Perry. I acquired the brush years ago when he was alive. Used it through a puck of old spice soap I was given then shelved it. Once I joined the Den, I got the urge to use it but the handle was split bad and the knot was wrecked. After consulting some guys on here, decided to give it a go and rebuild it. Knowing very little about knots and where to source them lead me to try making one instead, hence the paintbrush had synthetic bristles and seemed soft. I dipped handle in epoxy and that sealed the cracks. First painted it red and white like it originally was but ended up leaving half just with wood showing and other part black. Painstakingly crafted a knot from the bristles and voila, the brush was reborn again. It lathers like a boar I find and is still breaking in. Someday , now that I've gained knowledge and experience may redo the colors back to original and shape the top better . If I hadn't found this site that brush would still be sitting in a drawer and deteriorating. Now it's getting the loving it deserves!
Thanks. Using plate 4. Works great for face and head with every blade I tried so far. Very happy with this razor. What plate did you settle on?
SPECIAL ALERT FROM CARTEL HQ The winner of the Stirling gift card from the "we broke the record PIF" (notice how that title keeps changing. Poor memory), @Edison Carter , has graciously declined the PIF so someone else gets a shot. I went back and randomized the rest of the pack and our new winner is.................... @Primotenore !!! So, Joseph, if you would be so kind please PM me your email address so I can get the $25 Stirling card headed your way. THANKS and CONGRATS!!
Howdy folks. Looks like things are up and running around here again. Catching up a little on a weekend off work. Right now I get all weekends off work. WOOOO. I have been shaving with the TNNSER by Twhite this week. Great razor. Going to finish up with it tomorrow with a three days growth shave. Hope you are all well around these parts.
So glad you found TSD and it lead to you using that brush again. Very interesting as far as making your own knot. Quite creative! Neat story - thanks for sharing!
I had a sneaking suspicion that would be the first razor out of the gate for you. Man is that ever SWEET! And the setup? Decadence defined. I suddenly feel inadequate.
We are quite helpful with all of the AD's around here. We keep them well oiled, fueled up and running on high. It's just part of the friendly and free services.
We keep an eye on her if she wanders into Alabama. Auburn keeps trying to recruit her as a linebacker. They feel it's their only hope in beating 'Bama.
Thank you, Neil. I have felt welcome from day one. Great group of guys here! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
