  3. This near wedge shaves much like a full wedge, quiet and with little drama. It has the odd characteristic of ending with the feeling of not being quite as close as I’d like. But later it feels baby smooth - almost like the stubble retreats into hiding.

Well here we go. The final month of 2018, DECADENT DECEMBER!! How to start. Hmmmmmm. Well, I picked a setup that features what I consider the best products on the shelf for performance or feel, or just coolness. It's easy to pick my most decadent brushes. They are all of my custom/hand made ones. As for the razor - the Toggle has to go first. Its relative rarity and coolness factor rules the roost. The blade? Honestly - who would have expected Voskhod here? A year or two ago and you'd have been correct! Sharp Star now occupies the top spot in my den. Not by much, but by enough. The soap? This one was a tough choice. The Sheep (or one of its mutton tallow Stirling cousins) or Mitchell's Wool Fat? The Sheep by a nose. I love MWF as well with its lanolin, but having the mutton tallow as the base for the soap just creates the next level slickness and cushion. Which custom brush to pick? Let's go with the Canuck. The AP Shaveco SynBad knot is excellent.

Three passes of sheepy glory. Enough lather left over to wash a sheep or two. Incredibly smooth and effective shave that didn't open the cut from two nights ago which is a huge plus. The baby is in the house. What a way to start. Decadence is underrated. Have a great Sunday everyone!

I LOVE this razor. You just can’t get a bad shave with it, period. Balanced, comfortable, maneuverable and just a good looking piece of kit. Works with any blade you throw at it, some better than others and still has a smoothness and efficiency about it. A top notch performer and Oh So Good with the Super! Have a great day and awesome shaves Gents..... :happy088:

    SE Sunday's Shave

    Cold Water Wash
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #206
    J.A. Henckels Safety Razor
    J.A. Henckels wedge
    CWR
    Aqua Velva Musk AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Safety Razor with a J.A. Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  12. Thanks amigo! Have a wonderful Sunday.
